I was thinking about adding one of these to my dish hd service since dish is about to add a gazillion hd channels.

The new HD channels that will be added are (august 1st):
· HBO 2 HD (Ch. 301)
· HBO Comedy HD (Ch. 307)
· HBO Family HD (Ch. 305)
· HBO Latino HD (Ch. 309)
· HBO Signature HD (Ch. 302
· HBO West HD (Ch. 303)
· HBO Zone HD (Ch. 308)
· Starz Comedy HD (Ch. 354)
· Starz Edge HD (Ch. 352)
· Starz Kids & Family HD (Ch. 356)
· Starz West HD (Ch. 351)

is there a particular one that shows newer movies? i really dont care about the shows.

Showtime because they show HD movies in their original aspect ratio.

Agreed. Plus, their original programming has surpassed HBO's in quality. 'The Tudors' is a great show, as is 'Dexter'.

Spice.

The movies are captivating and the dialogue is epic.

Showtime
HBO shows rather uninteresting movies half the time...
I guess all the channels do though
But then again, watching "White Men Can't Jump" never gets old...

Cinemax

Not for its late night programming, but because I am getting it for a penny a month for 2 years with Dish Network since I user paperless billing.

HBO's original series and documentary is the best. I actually don't watch movies on HBO much.

When you order HBO you'll get all of the HBO channels...you don't have to pay for each individually. At least that's how DirecTV is.

And I voted HBO, with Showtime a close 2nd.
