I always wanted the 6th seed to play Seattle in the first round...if we win, then we would likely get the 2nd round Vs Phoenix. Now that Phoenix looks like they will get the #1 seed over San Antonio, I am starting to root for the 5th seed. But, the 5th seed will bring a 1st round matchup Vs Dallas. You see, I dont want to face Dallas or San Antonio. I guess we will have to do it at some point....thoughts?
4 or 5. we're better than dallas. there's a reason why the sonics have a much better record than the mavs -- they are better
It doesn't matter...you have to beat every team in front of you to make the finals. You can't shy away from anyone. What kind of way is that to be champions? Take the easy road?
If I had to pick, I would say 5. We seem to play harder with our backs against the wall, and not having home court advantage is a good thing. 1-3 are not attainable. I have some friends and relatives in the Dallas area, and would love to talk smack to them about us whipping up on Dirk & Co. J
I'm of a mind that playoff jockeying (especially tanking) is detremental in general. We should develop the mentality that we're going to beat any squad that's in our way. Besides, none of the teams above us look unbeatable: SA has Duncan and Manu dealing with nagging injuries Seattle has Allen dealing with an ankle Phoenix's Nash has struggled with wear and tear nearly every April/May Dallas is in a state of flux with the coaching and has a few injuries Sacramento has imploded Phoenix and Dallas are probably in the best shape among those teams. I simply will not believe in Seattle as a contender - they have all the classic looks of a regular season only squad. Since the All-Star Break: SAS: 9-6 (0.600) Pho: 10-3 (0.769) Sea: 11-5 (0.688) Dal: 10-6 (0.625) Sac: 9-7 (0.563) Hou: 9-6 (0.600) Evan
I would like to play San Antonio in the first round. If Duncan is out for an extended period, I would rather catch them when he is just coming back. I am not really afraid of anyone else. Not to sound overly cocky or suggest we will beat everyone else, I just think that would be the best scenario.
There's a possibility that San Antonio might fall to 3rd seed without Duncan. Seattle is only 3 games behind them and SA is losing to teams like the Knicks. So 6th seed for the Rockets might be a first round matchup against San Antonio. The Rockets should choot to get as manywins as possible ans let the chips fall where they may.
Obviosly, i think we'd match up best against the Sonics or the Duncanless Spurs right now. I would love to see us at least get to the 2nd round again. Dallas has had our # for awhile. They put a seed of doubt in my mind with their shooting. I'd rather hope Dallas or Phoenix have a long 1st round, while we have a quick 4 game sweep then play the winner.
4 spot will be nice, but if we land on 6 spot that will be just like deja vu allover again, just like the 94-95' season! Remember, do not under estimate the "heart of the champion"!
