Researching a few movies out this weekend made me think of how awesome more film adaptations would be based on the works of one of the greatest authors of our time...

Fight Club is one of my favorite movies, and an even better book, but what other Chuck Palahniuk works would make good films? Personally, my favorite book by him is "Choke" and I would love to see a movie based on it. It would be quite disturbing, but gripping in my opinion. "Diary" would be amazing as well. I'm waiting patiently for an adaptation for Choke...

.............Chuck Palahniuk is a great author. Choke, Diary, Lullaby, Fight Club, all great books. I highly recommend him.

I would go with Choke. I liked Choke better than Fight Club I think.

That's interesting, I like the movie much more than the book. The movie incorporates the idea of anarchy and chaos on a much grander scale. I mean the idea of them blowing up all the credit card corporate offices is so much more imaginative and impactful than the stuff they were doing in the book. Don't get me wrong, I liked the book and all, but the movie really took that storyline to a much higher level.

And I agree with you on Choke. That is also my favorite Chuck P. book, and would make a fabulous movie. And it's probably his funniest novel (the scene where that girl is trying to get him to "rape" her correctly, absolutely floored me), and I could totally see it translating to the big screen. Not to mention that Dr. Paige Marshall is hawt.

Diary would make a really crazy movie.

I think the one that would easily adapt to the screen is Survivor. I thought I even read somewhere a while back that they were already talking about making it into a movie.

I think he's asking about those bound pieces of paper with words on them. Apparently, that's what audiobooks are read from.

Oh man, I was just looking on IMDB at the awesome actress who co-starred in "No Country For Old Men," Kelly MacDonald. Saw she was in "Choke" with Sam Rockwell, to be released next year. I guess Aronofsky dropped out, disappointing, but I'm still officially VERY excited.

I remember I read one of his books about a guy in a cult. The thing read backwards, which was very gimmicky. Oh, and the book sucked. So hopefully the movie is about one of his other books.

    Outrageous!

Books come from movies, a la my early 1990's paperback of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

    Not the other way around!

I'm fairly (100% certain) that Fight Club the book came from the movie. I know this for a fact!

Yeah I can't wait for the movie version of Choke to come out. I heard they were filming a few months ago. Palahniuk is by faaaar my favorite author out there. I love everything he does.

Right now I'm almost done with Haunted. It's weird, and a little tough to keep up with all of the characters. But it's still a great read and I can't wait to see how it ends.

If you dig Chuck P, you should try some Irvine Welsh stuff (if you haven't already)
