Egg. the species inside the egg became a "chicken" due to some possible genetic mutation/evolution. Egg came from another species that was probably similar to a "chicken" but not exactly a "chicken". So egg before chicken.

*Chicken, on day 5... Genesis 1:20 20And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. *21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. *22And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. *23And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
No, I should let the schools teach them that kaboom! Nothing exploded one fine day in the void which is now our universe, and everything that we see here today is because of chance, random mutation & survival of the fittest. That bacteria in a swamp became a fish that became a frog that became a lizard that became a bird that became a monkey, that had a psychedelic revelation, then became man. ( I'm paraphrasing) If my aunt baked a cake, science could tell me about the cake, its dimensions, nutritional value & ingredient, but there is only one person that can tell me why the cake was created and its purpose...the creator of the cake.
...at the end of the day, as long as the Rockets beat the Wolves tomorrow I'll be happy, and maybe even BBQ some chicken to go with my egg salad.
Hey man, I'm a christian as well but also a scientist, do you really believe that chickens were here since the first week of the earth? Maybe if evolution was better explained by scientists and a such a strict interpretation of the bible wasn't taken by christians we could have better dialogue between the two groups. Not an agreement (of course) but nothing can be discussed if neither group understands what the other is saying.
I think you're missing the fact that what's important isn't "why it was created" but "how". Saying evolution is fake is implying you disagree with the scientific process; that's like saying you'd have somebody pray for your health instead of a doctor treating you.
