With the latest steroids saga which of these all time greats still gets in? Bonds- He was a hall of famer before the roids. He would have most likely finished 500/500. Clemens - Depending on when he started probably a no doubt hof. McGuire - Don't know when he gets in
In my mind, I try to judge whether the player would have been a hall-of-famer without juice. In my mind, Bonds and Clemens were elite, HOF-level players who used steroids to become all-time greats. McGwire was a bad first-baseman who couldn't hit for average, but a pretty good power hitter and used juice to make himself better. He wouldn't have even been in the conversation if it weren't for steroids. He doesn't get close. Too bad, he's not nearly the jackass that the other two are.
i think bonds and clemens are no-doubt hall of famers without the juice so are deserving to get in...they're likely going to face problems amongst the voters however.
I dont think any of them will get it. It just seems like every day more and more comes out about Bonds and Clemens.
None of the above. It used to be 500 hrs was an automatic induction. But now you can add Palermo and Sosa to the list of people with 500 hrs that won't make it. And even with Roger's stats, he has too much bad pr for him to get in IMO. I'm not saying these guys shouldn't get in but I don't think they will get in because of the smoke that most likely is pointing to a fire.
