Which operating system does your smartphone have? Do you like your current mobile O/S? If not, which would you prefer instead?

I recently bought the Nexus One which has the Andriod O/S. I've played around with the iPhone but still prefer Android.

Started with Blackberry. Then switch to first gen iPhone. Now i'm on the iPhone 3G.

    Wife has android phone.

My opinion...the apps available in the Apple iPhone AppStore make it a better OS.

Android OS just took over the number 2 spot for mobile operating systems in the US for Q1 2010. Maybe this is help increase app development for Android and bring it up to a level playing field with Apple.

Besides the apps...I dont see much of a difference.

Windows mobile!! Would be great if I didn't have to reboot all the time. Those with the HD2 do you still have to reboot all the time because the memory starts getting high? I figured you wouldn't have to since it has 1GB of memory.

I have the Palm Web OS. I like it. True multitasking. I just wish the Pre's hardware was built better, but it's fine with me.

I love my iPhone. I'd kill for multitasking, though. I haven't had a chance to play around with Android yet. Looking forward to the opportunity...

My phone can dual boot Android or Win6.5.

Android is a lot better, but it runs warm on my phone when using apps and is killer on battery life.

6.5 with HTC Touch Sense is okay, but very boring (no free games). Definitely have to mod it for speed and stability.

did a research paper on smartphone os and there are so many endless possibilities as far as performance. the competition will only help. think multiprocessors coming within a few years. android is making a huge splash. symbian is going down slowly and apple and blackberry are holding strong.

Have: Android (and Blackberry for work)
    Like: Android, iPhone, Palm

Dislike: Windows Mobile 5, haven't used it since. WM6 looked like more of the same.

Indifferent: Blackberry, perfect for work, where emails are the only thing I need to worry about, everything else is useless. Brickbreaker ftw though.

I started with a Treo (running Windows), then went to iPhone and broke two of them, "settled" with a Blackberry. I'm going to stick with it. Blackberry is 90% as good as iPhone and much more durable.

Blackberry. Pretty much any of the apps I need I can get for Blackberry. I really don't care about a light saber app or a T-Pain autotune app. Plus I have BBM and Brickbreaker

The Blackberry OS is awesome to use once you learn all the nuances with it's subfolder-style organization. The ability to customize the side buttons made life a lot easier when I had a BB.

I'm up for an upgrade with ATT. I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade and get a discounted phone.

Or get on my GF's employee plan, which would be ~$30 unlimited everything, but I have to pay full for a phone.

Currently I have a blackberry and pay around $80.

You will easily come out ahead by paying in full for the phone. Payback would be less than a year.

Ya, I figure that's the best route. Might as well take advantage of her employee plans while she has em.
