There are 3 undefeated teams from non-BCS mid-major conferences remaining. 2 of them are from the WAC. Currently, UTSA is 5-0 and La Tech is 4-0. Ohio from the MAC is 5-0.

UTSA is not even in the conversation. If their transitional D-1 status that pretty much prevents a bowl game without lots of other stuff going their way wasn't enough, their schedule alone won't generate any nice computer numbers and they won't get ranked unless they blow out LA Tech (who in that scenario finishes 11-1). And even if they finished ranked, they wouldn't be high enough to get into any realistic BCS contention.

At this point, it's La Tech's to lose should they win out, including an important game with A&M. It's wouldn't hurt if Houston continues to turn it around and, say, wins C-USA. Should they lose a game, then it's either Ohio or Boise State, despite the loss by the Broncos since they have enough credibility with pollsters should they keep winning.

To me, Ohio has the best chance, as they have no one on their conference that they shouldn't beat. Boise is pretty much the same way but have a slightly tougher league, as seen on Saturday at UNM.

Boise doesn't matter. Already lost to Michigan St. and barely beat a bad BYU team at home.

UTSA is undefeated because they've played another FBS transitional school in South Alabama, an FCS team, a DII team, and an NAIA team. They did beat New Mexico State which is a ****ty team but is at least a team that has been in FBS for awhile. They might get another 1-3 wins but they have no shot against San Jose St., Utah St, or LaTech. It is possible for them to make a bowl game this season due to a potential lack of bowl eligible teams
but 2 of their current wins won't count towards bowl eligibility.

LaTech's biggest challenge is going to be against A&M. The only other decent competition they face would be San Jose St. and Utah St. and if they make it past the Aggies, you'd have to like them in those games.

Ohio has already made it through their weak OOC schedule and only has MAC foes left. There are a couple teams that might give them some trouble but it's more likely that they'll sweep those team than it is for LaTech to beat A&M. Ohio has the best chance followed by LaTech with UTSA being a very long shot.

UTSA (and TX St) is bowl eligible...but a lot has to happen.

Too bad we can't play the Cougars every week. Or score in the second half against Nevada.

Boise has a good enough reputation to pull it off, even ahead of an undefeated Ohio. They're already a borderline ranked team.
