personally I'm hoping we'll deal with the Clippers so bad! I really believe Yao Ming + Brand + New Arena + Winning will bring fans in and solve the financial issues for Les next season and we won't have trouble re-signning Brand in the offseason!

    Yao Ming, Cato
    E. Brand, Taylor
    Nachbar, Rice, Morris
    J. Posey, Piatkwoski
    Francis, Norris

we'd be a serious contender and play exciting b-ball. fans would like to pay for tickets Les would be happy!

I am all for Brand too. He is the right player for the 'Team' and a good & consistent enforcer for Yao for years to come.

totally agreed! Brand is the "right player" for the team. Ray Alley and SAR are good but not the player we most needed!

You should have included the Miami connection in your poll:

Rice + Cato or Taylor for Grant
or Mobley + Rice for Jones

    Thanos,

both of your trades doesn't work cap-wise

the Heats want cap space so Rice has to be included, but himself makes $9.6 mil so we can only package him with someone w/ a contract of $1.5~2.5 mil for Grant or Jones. the only one I know on this team in that range and has a trade value is Eddie. would you do a Rice+Eddie for Jones trade? I won't do it!

I didn't bother to check Real Gm, but at least Brian Grant talks WERE (or still are) going on. You can throw the appropriate role players to make it work as you see fit.

I like the Mobley/Griffin for Brand/Pike trade the best. Yao, Brand and Francis would be tight! The Ray Allen trade does peek my interest however because in that trade would be keeping Griffin. Yao,Francis,Allen,Griffin is pretty tight as well. In either trade the Rockets pick up a "3rd" all star player to compliment Yao and Francis. In both situations they add quality personnel to the team.

I am not as much sold on a Griffin for SAR however. I love SARs offense but his defense is very average. I am not sure if I want to give up on Griffin for SAR. With Brand you know you are getting a top notch rebounder and shot blocker that can compete with other West PFs but the same can't be said for SAR.

Houston trades: PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.0 apg in 24.8 minutes)
_ SG Cuttino Mobley (17.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.0 apg in 41.9 minutes)
    _ C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.4 minutes)

_ PF Elton Brand (18.3 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 2.4 apg in 40.1 minutes)
_ SG Ray Allen (21.4 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 3.4 apg in 35.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +10.5 ppg, -1.9 rpg, and +1.8 apg.
L.A. Clippers trades: SG Eric Piatkowski (9.2 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 22.8 minutes)
_ PF Elton Brand (18.3 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 2.4 apg in 40.1 minutes)

Milwaukee receives: C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 44 games)
_ PF Maurice Taylor (7.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 39 games)
Change in team outlook: -9.2 ppg, +5.2 rpg, and -2.0 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Houston, L.A. Clippers, and Milwaukee being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston, L.A. Clippers, and Milwaukee had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Yeah real smart, 4 scoring options and possible 4 max contracts. Guess who's not gonna get the ball?

Not that it would happen, but I think all 4 might be relieved that they don't have to carry the team night-in-night-out.

That's the best case scenario that we all hope would happen. However, you realize also that this trade would leave us with no bench. With no 1st round pick this year that's not a smart thing. Chances are we also won't be able to sign a decent FA cuz we'll be so far over the cap.

what a disappointed deadline news..... NO TRADE for the Rockets!

well, 17.02% of the voter got their dream come ture.

I think the Rockets then is not going to make the playoffs this year AGAIN! now, I'm just hoping they'll finally do something in the offseason - to move Mobley and some other above avarage players for our 3rd star.
