I have a gym membership, but I don't use it as often as I should and I let myself go big time. I know carido and a little of weight training can help me lost my weight, but which machine should I use for my carido for the faster results? I used both, and with the stair climber machine, you def. feel the burn but you'll burn out quicker.

Switch it up. Don't stick to one exercise or routine.

High intensity cardio (HIIT) on treadmill. 12 minutes is sufficient.

Fastest and most efficient fat loss system other than diet.

A push lawnmower. And a sparring partner. Also, racquetball is probably the funnest of the most intense cardio workouts, when you can't find anything to mow or fight.

But for what you,re looking at, unless I was splurging on a really high end elliptical or something really smooth that saves your knees, I'd just get a nice pair of running shoes instead. Roads, stadiums etc.?

Strength training (lifting weights, using weight machines) in addition to the cardio always helps out.

My workout is a combination of Bowflex (or whatever weights you have exercising all the major muscles/entire body), treadmill, and biking along with a healthy diet. The weight will pretty much fall off. Just mix it up and don't approach it that you will be doing the same routine, same order, etc. . Vary the weight lifting exercises, try new ones, change the order...i.e. keep your body guessing. Don't work all the muscles on the same day; divide it up across a few days of the week. For running, it's pretty simple that the more endurance you build up...the longer you run...the more the weight comes off. Same with cycling. I like to run, take a few hour break, and then hit the bike. I take it easy on the cardio on weight lifting days..usually take a 20 min ride later after a 45 min weight lifting session.

It's really what works best for you. It's not hard to find something that works. Basically, it's about losing the laziness. If you are going really hard on the treadmill running at a fast clip with an incline (or even without), then you may be keeping up with the calorie burn coming from stair stepping. A lighter jog/run won't keep up with the caloric burn from a stair stepper imo.

I crack up when I see people walking backwards on treadmills. It seems like more than ever, people are trying different things to the extreme.

For instance... Standing on a half moon in a half-squated position, arms extended out each holding a champagne glass full of gasoline and a lit match balanced on the end of your nose.

    When does the madness end?
