Not talking about basketball IQ or skills. Just raw physical attributes and athletic ability. Which current players remind you most of Olajuwon?

I was baffled looking at the Lebron-Hakeem tutorial session video how they're almost the exact same size.

Tall-ish players with long arms, "long" torsos, and thus low centers of gravity/relatively short legs - actually Michael Phelps might be the closest to this. Can he ball?

Honestly, no one..... there are some guys that have similar builds, but they are too robotic in their movements or not as smooth and coordinated. The players that are similar to him athletically are not physically like him.

    He is unique.

Cross country skier is the most similar.

Tyson Chandler kind of fits that description.

Hard to say... a lot of these guys are mostly just strong, explosive, and long players. Not many really had the completeness of Dream. They may seem like they do, but they are more like a 100m sprinter, while Dream was more of a decathlete.

to me, it's LeBron. They are really similar in terms of stature and raw ability. After that, I guess someone like Blake Griffin fits the mold, although Griffin is more athletic, while Hakeem had more finesse.

This is the guy I was thinking of, but not nearly the same strength. Olajuwon was a bull in the low blocks.

Hakeem had this combination of quickness, agility, core strength, and north-south speed that's really hard to find. I was just watching some clips of him on Youtube, and its easy to forget how impressive he was just from a physical tools standpoint.

So I'll throw in a few more names, but I haven't watched some of these guys play all that much so I can't really say how good a match they are. I'm just going based on a few measurements and statistics.

    Serge Ibaka
    Larry Sanders
    Bismack Biyombo
    Andre Drummond
    Josh Smith
    Samuel Dalembert
    DeAndre Jordan
    Jermaine O'Neal (think younger version)

Which of those would be the best comparison, from a physical tools standpoint?

If you look at most of the old school players, especially the bigs, they all were built from the core out, meaning the y were stronger closer to the core. Guys nowadays, like Dwight, want to look good and build themselves from outside the core and primarily in their upper half. Big shoulders, biceps, triceps. that may make them strong in some ways, but hurts their agility and coordination, since rhythm starts at the hips (core).

I would say Hakeem was a longer Blake Griffin physically
