I don't know about you guys, but there is a lot of good music on the radio these days... The worst thing is to spend $15 on a CD and only have one good song...The 3 Doors Down Better Life was worth it... I like the songs from the following bands, but would like some input as to what is actually worth having... 1) Coldplay (Scientist) 2) John Mayer (Why Georgia Why) 3) Saliva (Rest in Pieces) 4) AudioSlave (Like a Stone) 5) Maroon 5 (Harder to Breathe) 6) Everesance (???) 7) Nickelback (How you remind me) 8) Live (Heavan) Thanks for the help!
Do what I did. Go to a music store and pick out a CD from a band that you've never heard of before, completely at random. You might be suprised. My random CD purchase was: very cool CD...imagine a punk CD on lithium, if that makes any sense...
Coldplay = Get it....today. Trust me. Everesence = no. But I'm biased because I detest rap-metal. Audioslave = Get it. You can always download it first
I bought Audioslave on Saturday and was very glad I did. I also bought the new Janes Addiction which I though was alright but not as good as the Audioslave.
I don't have the new Coldplay yet, but plan on getting it. Audioslave is a must have for any self-respecting rock music fan. Maroon 5 is a cool band with a Jamiroquai(sp?)/Stevie Wonder-type sound. You might want to listen to the album before buying it(ie. download it first).
i'd wait until the end of September and pick up the new Nickelback and Fuel albums. Both have their new singles on the radio and both are very good.
Get BOTH Coldplay CD's. Those boys need to get back in the studio asap. I held off for a while thinking they were just a Radiohead clone, but I shouldn't have. I love that band.
I agree though, I haven't heard any Everesence or Evenesence or Effervescence. "Nail in my hand, from my creator You gave me life now show me how to live!" Rush of Blood to the Head is one of the few albums I can honestly say I listen to from beginning to end. One of the songs they don't play on the Radio, Warnig Sign, is a damn good song. The title track, which was in a car commercial I think, is also damn good.
The Mars Volta- De-loused... Jane's Addiction- Strays Sorry but the new Jane's kills Audioslave (which is really good) Git em' all
Maroon 5's CD is GREAT, IMO. I've seen them live in concert when they opened for matchbox twenty and I bought the CD. I'm going to see them again in October.
A Perfect Circle will be coming out with a new album sometime in the fall, and you might find a liking to them. They're one of my favorite bands and I dunno how similar or different our tastes our, but if you want to listen to their single airing on the radio currently go to their site at www.aperfectcircle.com and listen to it for free there.
Audioslave- get it. Good. Not as good as Rage, but the definition of a "solid" cd. "I am the Highway" is an amazing song. John Mayer- if you like "Why, Georgia," and can tolerate hearing "Your Body is a Wonderland" again, buy it. It's a great cd, and I actually like his Live double CD " Any Given Thursday" better. Live- not as good as Throwing Copper, or the Distance to Here, but still a good rock cd. I'm biased as a huge LIVE fan, though. I think the first half of the cd is great, and the second half grew on me big time. I've heard good things about Maroon 5, but don't know anything specific. Hope that helps.
Coldplay's Parachutes is 100 times better than Rush of Blood (which is a good album anyway); the rest of that stuff is probably garbage. Get the new Super Furry Animals or New Pornographers.
The club I work at had the distinct pleasure of hosing a make-out session between Paz and some other chick last weekend. They also steam-rolled down the floor of our lobby. SD - EMG
