I have a Playstation right now and I am satisfied with what it has given me over the past 3-4 years. Now that the PS2 is out, I want to buy it, but It looks like I'm a bit late. I've heard a lot of good stuff about the XBox from Microsoft and the GameCube from Nintendo, while I've heard stuff that's not that great about the PS2. I heard the PS2's graphic's are just a tad bit better than Dreamcast, and the only reason you'd want to buy it instead of a Dreamcast was because you get a free DVD player along with it. My birthday's coming along (February 25) and, I wanna know what do you guys think will be the best console to buy come next summer? Here's your choices (YOu can add some if I don't have them): 1.PS2 2.GameCube 3.XBox 4.Dolphin (or is that the gamecube?) BTW, I meant to put Summer 2002. ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! I think Dolphin was the original name for GameCube. I would wait for the Cube. Nintendo always has the best games. PS2 has quantity of games, but Nintendo has quality games. ------------------ Fun Police Says: 1. Stupid threads & Stupid BBS names are not FUN! 2. Conduct yourself in a FUN way! If the only advantage of the PS2 is the DVD player built-in, then I would wait for the better graphics capabilities of the GameCube. Of course, I already have a DVD player, so I really don't need another one. Of course, I imagine I won't be buying any of them (well, I did just remember that I have kids. I may end up with one of 'em after all at some point.) ------------------ Houston Sports Board
I'm no big fan of Micro$oft, but the Xbox is gonna be totally sweet. It will blow both the PS2 and the Gamecube right out of the water. Check it out at http://www.xbox.com
I really don't see what the big rush to upgrade is. I had the SNES, and I waited till to see which system was better, which was the PS, so I got one when it was MUCH cheaper(i think they were around 300 when they first came out). I really don't see that much of an upgrade in the graphics to justify shelling out a huge amount of money for a new system right now. PS is still cool, and when I get bored with the games I have now, it only takes $20 to get something new. I'll wait to see which system comes out with the better games and which system actually lasts *cough*Saturn*cough* before I shell out good money for some of this over-priced stuff.
