I quickly skimmed a bio on Moore. It says he gave up a 2 out 2 run homer to Henderson in the top of the 9th which gave the Red Sox a 6-5 lead. California came back in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game 6-6. In extra innings, Henderson had a sac fly rbi - the game winner. I don't know if Moore was pitching in the extra innings, but he must have been taking it real hard to commit suicide.

I teared up when Buddy left to Arizona after the '93 season. I wanted another crack in '94.

I remember we played at San Francisco on Christmas Eve or Day. We were supposed to lose that game on national TV, but we showed up the Niners.

Rant: This is why we should have kept the Oilers or at least the name. Everyone brings up the chokes, but Oiler fans have some damn good memories. We gave up our history to Tennessee without a fight

Hell yeah! I remember watching that game on TV with my dad. He thought for sure that Houston was gonna get demolished, but I told him we had a special team that year that was going to surprise everyone that night! Boy did I feel great after that win!!! I think it was 10-7 or something! One of the happiest sporting moments of my life... well moments that don't include championships, of course :D

I dont know anything about Buckner, i would have to say Jay Williams, he had a great 3 years at Duke just not good at free throws. Maybe he can higher a free throw coach like shaq did?

Without a doubt, Bill Buckner. The guy had a solid career, but his life has been wrecked ever since he let a routine grounder roll through his legs in the 9th inning of the 1986 World Series allowing the game winning run to score. The Red Sox went on to lose the Series in 7 games to the Mets.

The guy has been tormented the rest of his life by people in Boston, and lunatic fans. These people have absolutely no lives outside of Red Sox baseball.

He was the first thing I thought of when I saw the title to this thread. AFter that horrible missed fg against washington they gave him the...boot.
And the post game media barrage where he was just sobbing...I still remember it."I'm just going to....sniff, sniff...keep trying to get back in league...sniff,sniff..."

I feel bad for him but I'm still pissed when I think of it

In Del Greco's first game against the Cowboys in the Astrodome, he missed a FG late in regulation which would have given the Oilers the win. Fortunately I believe the Oilers got the ball first in overtime, drove down the field, and gave him another opportunity to win the game.

Norman definitely, was up for work during that last round of the Masters and watched it all and maybe it was just cause we are both Aussie, but man that was one of the hardest thing i have ever had to watch, one of those times where one bad shot just follows another. I suppose the other reason i have sympathy for him is the career on a whole is just sensational, what he has done for the sport is brilliant.

I saw about a year ago a thing on Fox Sports Net about his life and career, and he seemed to be doing okay. I will say one thing for him - dude has a f*cking knockout for a wife!! Schwing!

Even though they wound up winning the World Series, poor old Byung Hyun-Kim would have been mentioned more if Luis Gonzalez hadn't bailed him out.

No sympathy here but....... The 94 and the 95 Phoenix Suns. Wasn't it 3-1 two years in a row. Well, if you can't beat em, join em. Right, Charles?
