    Physically addicted to caffeine.
    Mentally addicted to smartphone.

If I miss my morning coffee I get bad migraines.
If I forget my phone I manage.

Given up caffeine a few times in my life. It really sucks for a few days, but can get over it. I use smartphone for too much. I could probably do without while pandemic continues, but when I am expected to be in the field again, it will be needed.

Exact same situation for me. Although I'm a bit lost without my smartphone.

    Give up caffeine.

Smartphone needed for work, phone calls, and google maps. Also keep my 'apps' down to the essentials. Less to no need for twitter/facebook.

If I don't drink coffee in the morning I am a danger to myself and others around me

    Addicted to neither.

Need phone for everyday use in this world of information.

Quit drinking coffee, just to have something to drink, for about 6 months. Went back and drank a cup and was jittery as ****.

smartphone for sure...not even close...all my CF activity is via phone for example

I don’t drink coffee or soda...I’ve probably had coffee like once or twice in my life just to taste it, and I stopped drinking soda almost 10 years ago...I pretty much only drink water, tea, orange juice, green smoothies, milk with oatmeal or cereal, and wine on occasion (other forms of alcohol on occasion if I’m at an event or some type of function)

Question in the thread title is different from the poll question....

I could much more easily give up caffeine, in fact once I'm done with my current bag of beans I'll be switching to decaf.

Phone, unfortunately, is harder. I hate myself for that being the case, but what can I say.... I suck.

I'm not addicted to my phone. It's an important tool for managing my life. I won't miss my phone if it's gone, but life will be incrementally harder.

    Coffee I'm addicted to.

I've weaned myself off caffeine over the past few years, so the phone is more useful. But even then I can use a computer to check the news, investments, sports, etc.. I could probably use a dumb phone to call and text, but it wouldn't be as easy.

I clicked the wrong one because I answered the question in the thread title. I would give up my smartphone in a heart beat. Less annoyance and distraction and I get to keep drinking coffee. Win win.

For me, it depends on the circumstances. If on a vacation, I would choose a cup of coffee in the mornings over a smartphone easily.
