The West's coach will be either the Lakers' Phil Jackson, the Timberwolves' Flip Saunders or the Mavericks' Don Nelson, depending on who has the best record after Sunday's games. Sacramento's Rick Adelman, whose Kings have the NBA's best record, is ineligible because he coached the West All-Stars last I would want Phil Jackson to coach Steve. I think he can learn most from Phil. We need Steve to get another set of experience from the allstar game so that he is better in the second half and more importantly next year.
What can Steve possibly learn from the coach in the All Star game? The NBA all star game is so meaningless it's almost laughable. The players only get two or three hours practice time together...That's enough time to draw up one, maybe two real plays. 90% of the game is fast breaks and alley oop attempts. No defense, hardly any set plays, and isolations galore. The players are there to entertain the fans, nothing more. The only thing the coach is there for is to make sure each guy gets some playing time. Heck, there are rumors that Phil Jackson used to tank games right before the All Star break back in Chicago so he didn't have to coach in the game. Secondly, why would Jackson or Nelson want to teach Steve anything? They would only be hurting their own teams if Steve somehow used this sage-like advice against them in a future game
Oh, dear. Our season has come to this. We're talking about which coach will help our star player perform well in the all-star game. Reminder: NBA finals = Rose Bowl. All-star game = Rose Bowl Parade. Object of season = win Rose Bowl. Object of season does not = win Rose Bowl Parade.
I like what will has to say..... i'm gonna go roll on the floor and laugh now at this woahhahahahahahah
