Now that Transformers has raked in a boat load of money I'm sure studios have started fast tracking or looking into other 80's cartoons to turn into movies, like they did with comic books.

My question is which do you want to see most? Listed a few options up top, some of which are already being planned other not.

For me, I've always wanted to see a live action Robotech movie, based on the Macross part, and have always been surprised it hasn't been done or even talked about before.

    Thoughts?

I'd like to see them do a "Land of the Lost"....only, not for kids and shown in the evenings with a good budget. However, it would be important for them to stay true to the original.

Actually none. I Loved transformers, and i'm looking forward to watching the movie. But in the 80's i like gi joe and Thundercats.

GI Joe: that would be similar to any action movie, nothing special, so they will probably only destroy the characters.

So if i had to choose Thundercats, but i have trouble seeing how that would make an interesting movie.

It would be pretty sweet to see Lion-o in a movie. I figure Panthro and Mummra would be tight too..

I always wanted to buy those on DVD, but they're like $60 for each volume at Best Buy, and i dont have it :(

i dont know how they would be able to make any of those other ones outside of GI Joe (and do we really need another american army/war propaganda flick?) and be able to cater it to the general public

thundercats would be my choice though

thundercats were 60 apiece? i know i have seen them for 40 before at bb maybe it was on sale

My vote would be for G-force and Mask if they chose the right cars so if the movie sucks as least you get to see cool car chases.

But Thundercats would be awesome but it seems it would be so cheesy

There were a lot of unanswered questions with the series finale of Smurfs.

I dont think I even knew what a series finale was or when new seasons of the smurfs came on tv. I guess I was too young. I just watched the show whenever it was on tv.

I would only go see the Smurf movie if it was done by Pixar and they handed out mushrooms with the popcorn. That would be Smurftastic.

This thread is basically irrelevant, since, according to EW, GI Joe and He-Man live action movies are already in development, and a CG Thundercats movie is on the way.

Depending on how they did it GI Joe could be very interesting. Imagine if they got Paul Verhoeven to direct it along with the guy who wrote Robocop it could be a subversive take on US military culture and propaganda but still chock full of action.

Out of the choices listed above the only one that I think really had a good story was Robotech but it would take a good director and writer to translate that to a big Hollywood movie.
