We are already in mid january and not even a minor trade has gone down! No team has made a single move yet. We have heard about so many players who seem bound to change teams, but no action! The only thing anyone hears is Artest. And that trade seems like it is going absolutely nowhere. Everytime a possible trade idea comes up and gains steam, it is shot dead. I am telling you, looks like nothing is going to happen till possibly the ASB. Artest and the pacers are not going to let anyone make a trade.

The lack of movement is mostly due to the Artest deal.

From what I understand, most teams don't want to move anyone just incase those players can be used as part of deal for Artest.

I read somewhere that Donnie Walsh said they are getting closer to a deal and may hav something done this week.

Seems the Celtics are rumored to be trading Blount and Banks at anytime. Of course, Blount could be heading to the T'Wolves for Olowokandi.

Read also that Billy King, GM of the Sixers, said they are close to making a move. Though he said it wasn't anything significant, just gives them flexibility. Whatever that means. I guess financially.

So, I think there are deals out there to be made and I would expect a couple might be made soon, and then pick up from there. But, of course, the Artest deal seems to be holding a lot of this up.

It's amazing to me nothing has happened yet. I guess it must be the Artest deal holding things up.

What was interesting about that was that Walsh is now saying that it may be a deal that gives them cap flexibility. if that's the case, that puts the Rockets in a very good position to get a deal done for Artest.

I have Artest, S. Jackson, and Franchise in my fantasy team.

It's like waiting for a lottery drawing...

Does that mean expiring contracts? Could the Rockets possibly be a target for a 76ers trade?

    God, I hope not.

Steven A. Smith said they were open to trading Iguodala, but they want a good player in return (ala Artest).

I think, anyone the Rockets would be interested in, are untouchable. I just pray the Rockets are not looking at Ollie.

He's been saying that since before Christmas, though.

Trade deadline is within a month. It looks like there will be a flurry.

I'd love to get Iguodala on the Rockets, but I don't see it, unless it's part of a 3 team trade that sends Webber to a third team (and who would take that contract?) and involves a LOT of our players.
