As deep as 60 Minutes' bench is, I think Scott Pelley just might be rising above the pack. Really liked it when he caught the Executive Recycling CEO in a bald-faced lie: Pelley laid out the evidence cool as cucumber; and that Richter guy just starts freaking out with all that "small business, backbone of America" crap. I guess it's a mixed blessing he got screwed out of Rather's gig (I believe in-house it was between him and John Roberts).

the douche looks like someone i went to junior h.s. with by the same name. hope he gets some serious time in a cell with "Tiny".

without sounding too insensitive to the Chinese locals, this makes me wonder if the heat from the everyday use of computers releases toxic fumes... perhaps in small amounts.

It is sad hearing about all the miscarriages and children born with high levels of lead.

Eye-opening stuff. The douche from executive recycling was pathetic.

Just heard that Dell is doing re-opening a computer recycling center in Austin. I doubt those end up over there. I saw part of that CBS segment...and it was disgusting. They are trying to extract the bits of gold and silver from the motherboards and stuff...with some toxic acid solution burning over a fire pit. That sh_t is f_cked up. I'd rather just keep my old PC in a closet if that is where it ends up.

if you think the true value of that 2g flash drive is reflected in its $9.99 price tag, then....

best buy will take any old electronics for recycling (it used to be tough to get them to take it..as of a couple of months ago, it became much easier)

    Newsflash: China.....

    pollutes their skies
    destroys their environment
uses unpaid people, slaves, and childres as the mainstay of their labor
    does not enforce environment laws
does not enforce civil rights/labor laws

This should not be a surprise to anyone.

EDIT: I'm generalizing, of course. I'm sure that the above statement does not apply to all of China.

thats fine but I don't want the USA to have any part in it. We can make sure our consumer goods are not made by kids and our computers are not increasing kids lead blood levels by 300 times.
