With us signing Derrick Anderson and Detroit offering there money to Mo Evans, and Finley bound to be with the Heat. Does this make a sign and trade with Minnesota more likely? Or does this give Denver a chance to swap him up? I personally cant think of any other teams who have even been rumored to be interested in him. Im very concerened about him being a cancer to our locker room, and the overall chemistry this team is going to have next year with the additions and subtractions we have seen this summer.

Yeah detroit seems to have moved on (they might even start negotiating with price on his extenstion soon), phoenix was never interested, miami may be done with finley, ...

    it's really houston or denver...

sprewell's teammates in golden state and new york liked him ... i don't know i think he'll be ok if he comes here ... you guys remember carl everett ? that man was crazy before the astros and crazy after the astros, but when he was here the clubhouse was alright ... hopefully it'll be the same if we pick him up....

What do we have to offer Sprewell? If we somehow landed him, there would be some major trades at guard!

I was thinking the same thing about people like cooling off in Houston. But then there was MAD MAX lol And CD has already said something about a big move. And if Doc's source are correct we are looking for a 2-1 right?

let's face it, we do care since there's been several threads and countless posts in each thread even though we repeatedly have had people say quit posting these rumors....

quite frankly he'd be in the top 6 of our rotation if we came onto the squad somehow, so he definitely matters... and that's now...count the fact that he's a former all-nba player and has a crazy rep following him around so I'd say alot of rockets fan care if he comes on board or not

don't forget we're all itching to see what the next move is ... it's been hinted in the papers, by the GM, the coach has said we have a logjam at the guards, DA's passing ability has been touted for some strange reason, and obviously we care to see what happens...

i'd welcome a sprewell on this team... i can imagine a game 7 with DA/sprewell/swift/tmac/yao on our squad, wiht barry and sura doing their little hand gesture and mutombo shouting defense from the bench...awesome

The guy loves JVG, he plays hard for him, this is probably his last chance to play for some jewerly so i know if he comes here, we`re gonna have the Sprewell from the eastern conf. champion Knicks + a few years and also a young Camby in Swift... wow, he would be a welcome addition here. no doubt about it.

if he comes though, that means we get rid of Wesley and a expring contract and maybe a pick, but its worth a risk... i think we are ready to contend now with the players we have now, and we`re not getting any younger here.

I'll give CD GM of the Year if he manages a 2 for 1 deal for Spree, with a short term contract.

This is a disturbing belief that's shared by almost all of the Sprewell advocates on this board.

Latrell will be 35 when the season starts. He ain't suddenly going to regain the athleticism and skills that have eroded over the years. It just doesn't work that way.

And before anybody brings up Dikembe, Deke basically played at the same level he had been at for the two years before he came here. His contributions just weren't appreciated in New Jersey or New York, whose systems didn't fit Deke's strengths.

i agree that spree can't be the guy athleticly that he was a few years ago for an extended period of time, but i do believe that for 15-20 mins a game backing up tmac and the 2 spot he can be very effective and provide a spark off the bench, any more minutes than that and fatigue will make him a liability. but we keep him fresh he can contribute big off the bench

You really think Spree would be happy with so few minutes?

Don't get me wrong, if he would be, I wouldn't be totally against signing him... Though I don't exactly think that he does anything better than DA, other than stay healthy.

No, I am sure his ego wouldn't settle for back-up minutes. Would be great, but if he comes here, he will be a starter.

At this point I don't see a need for Spree. After signing Anderson and the rest of our guys, in the back court, Spree just isn't necessary. I would much rather trade for front court help even if it was lesser overall talent because that is where this team needs the help.

If we were to do a S&T, I pray that the length of the contract is for no more than 2 years. He could help us, but I strongly doubt he'd accept his role. If and only if we could somehow convince the Wolves to take Moochie & Ward for him (would never happen), I'd be fine with it.

Why are so many people seeing our abundance of good guards as a "glut," like that's a bad thing? Seems like it'd be best to keep 'em all and play 'em all, try to get max energy out of 'em in min minutes. And it pains me especially to see folks blithely trading David Wesley in 2-for-1 scenarios-- he's a good perimeter defender, and he told CD that his repaired knee feels better and his "shots will fall this year." Sometimes I do yearn to see a speedster point gaurd added-- and I'm certainly not against losing Moochie, Ward, Baker to get someone who could contribute-- but I think we can run well enough with what we got, especially if we keep the glut's legs fresh by limiting their minutes.

Detroit got restricted guard from the Sacremento Kings. Kings aren't going to match. Denver has no interest in him. (Marcus does cause their boys). Personally, I think he may end up back in Minnesota for less money than they offered him during the season. His mouth SCREWED him up big time!

Not going to bring up Deke, I`m pretty happy he`s playing well... sometimes better than Yao. Either way, Spree can still play. I remember he played pretty well in the T-Pups team 2 years ago. Him and E.T. did a great job. I dont see why he cant have another great year, so what if he had a off year last year, so did Sam. The only player playing for them was KG, and they have McHale as a GM, C`mon the guy is horrible. then they fired Flip in the middle of the season.

I`m not the biggest Spree fan, but if he can succeed anywhere, he can here. He`ll play less minutes, play with a coach he respects, have Yao and Swift guarding the lane, and he`ll get a crap load of open shots, what else would you want.

But to be realistic, unless the T-Pups want expiring contracts, I dont see how we can get him now.

there's a lot of confusion as to how good Sprewell is now ...

if it's not clear from the fact the the twolves won't even acknowledge their own free agent, it should have been clear when they reduced his role on the team that they don't really care about him any more....the contract talks didn't help this role, either ... he got less minutes and did not get as many touches on offense like he used to ... even though his shooting was slightly better, he took fewer shots and made fewer plays, leading to less ppg and fewer assists... game by game his playing time really varied because of whatever feuds they have brewing in minnesota ... alot of random games with 18-20 minutes played and 4-5 shots ... doesn't mean he can't play anymore

from a performance perspective, he doesn't miss many games and has had no major injuries in his career ... his age is high, but he has at least this year and maybe another in him because no knee surgeries, nagging hamstrings, etc can allow you to play past 35 ... if you saw him play last year ( i saw a few games ) you'll notice he's about the same as the year before where minnesota was all over the playoffs and nobody cared that he wasn't as fast as he was in golden state ... heck he wans't even that fast when he got to new york but still made the all-star team and played around 40mpg....
