Where were you and who was it against? I remember first game I watched was back in the 92 season and it was against the Cavs.

Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Langhi at the buzzer.......YES!!! How Sweet It Is!!

Geez! That's almost impossible. It was probably in 1978 or 79 but I don't remember the team they played though I do remember Calvin Murphy and Rudy T fairly distinctly. I do remember the playoff run in 1981 as my first real Rockets memory.

Kings versus Rockets, playoff game. Had to be on weekend because I was at a Picnic and they had a black and white TV set up on a table. The game was on. I was in Homestead Florida. I vaguely remember hearing talk about Carter versus Reagan, and then something about peanuts. And then victory?? That was the first game I can remember. I was a Houston Cougar fan first, and then Rockets.

Lakers-Rockets, spring of 1986, in a motel room at the TravelLodge on 59 (just south of Kingwood). We'd just moved down from Columbus and were moving into our house the next day.

I was flipping through the channels and on 20Vision, there were the Rockets. I remember thinking, "Hm, we didn't have this in Columbus. Maybe it won't be so bad here."

I think that it must have been when the Rockets played the Suns in 1994. I was a Suns fan then. I was at college and still shaken from the Sun's losing Danny Manning earlier in the year to a torn Achilles Tendon (what I believe kept the Suns from winning it all that year). They were virtually unstoppable before that injury.

As a Rockets fan, it was when Barkley first came to play for the Rockets and with a new found respect for Hakeem.

I watched my first game at a neighbor's house. It was the finals against Bird and the Celts and since my folks didn't watch sports a bunch of friends all went over there. It just so happens Akeem and Ralph got into fights with some of the Celts and Akeem was ejected!I have three distinctive memories about this experience first the Rockets lost.Second was Akeem sitting in the corridors doing a postfight, postejection interview.Thirdly I remember my friends mom saying "Boy,that Akeem sure does like to fight"

Whoa....waaayy too many brain cells killed or injured since my first Rocket game. I do remember seeing Moses Malone after he first came to the Rockets. That was in '76, I believe, so it was around 1976, most likely at my parents house.

Ha! We started watching the Rockets at about the same time/age. I remember my earliest memory was of The Whopper. I could never figure out (until much later) why they called him that. Also had Dunleavy as the "chicken man".

No kidding. I was about 9 when I started watching. I was big into Malone, Murph and Rudy T. Then there was the Whopper, Jim Peterson, Rodney McRae and, maybe my all time favorite, Robert Reid. Loved those knee socks!!!

Can't really remember first rocks game. I can remember my mother taking me to Cougar games during Phi Slama Jama.

First real big Rocks memory was my parents waking me up around midnight to watch the end against the lakers in game 5 of '86. Sampson made the slinger and we were off to the Finals. What happened to McCray?

I also remember seeing the highlights of the game where Ralph Sampson took that horrible fall, against the Celtics in the Boston Garden. That was before I followed the NBA... pretty scary looking fall as I recall.

I don't remember the team, but it was at a friends house. It was the season we won our first title...93-94? He mentioned, "The Rockets are playing tonight, wanna watch?"

    I said nonchalantly, "sure"

    that was it...
I was hooked and have been ever since..
I even dabbled a bit with a Rockets website, but sadly it passed on to that great info super highway in the sky!

Easy. It was a day game in the 1986 Finals, and our homeroom teacher (7th grade) carted in a television for us to watch. Before that, I used to think sports were "just stupid", but I couldn't help but get excited by "Akeem", Sampson, and McCray. The next year I was on board all the way, and have been ever since. I am ashamed to say that my favorite player in the late eighties (after Dream, of course) was Buck Johnson. That guy could really leap, and I loved hearing Bill Worrell call out "Buckaroo for two!" Lame, I know. [IMG]
