What does Rudy have against Hakeem? He could have really stopped all those layups for Dallas. Is Hakeem ill? ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death." Yeah...I was wondering where Hakeem was too. I don't remember seeing him in the 2nd half. I think Rudy just wasn't playing him because both teams were going small. ------------------
Apparently, Rudy doesn't think Dream can handle extended minutes...I say put Hakeem in there for as much as possible...You'll know when he gets tired [This message has been edited by A-Train (edited December 30, 2000).]
If Hakeem was in we would have suffered a complete meltdown. Hakeem wouldn't of had the stamina to deal with the unrelenting presses and half-court traps that were applied late in the game. ------------------
I agree. I am still shocked that dream played only about 17 minutes in the whole game. And when Kenny and Mo both fouled out I could not believe Rudy T left Dream on the bench. I can only guess that Rudy felt a smaller faster line-up matched up against Dallas better. Maybe at the end of the game he was more interested in keeping his best free throw shooters on the floor which might explain Bull replacing Kenny when he fouled out. Still Hakeem was apart of the defense that limited Dallas to 26% shooting in the first half. ------------------
I kinda wondered that too but I think Rocketbooster makes a good point. The fact is that the Rockets needed people to handle the ball and Hakeem is not that mobile. ------------------ The way to use life is to do nothing through acting, The way to use life is to do everything through being. - Lao-Tzu
Also, Hakeem's absence might have had something to do with the fact that they are going to be playing tomorrow in sub-zero temperatures. I don't know how much experience you guys have with asthma in really cold weather, but it is a bad mix. ------------------ The way to use life is to do nothing through acting, The way to use life is to do everything through being. - Lao-Tzu
From the recap at ESPN.com: Rockets center Hakeem Olajuwon sat out the fourth quarter because of a recurring right knee problem. ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Langhi at the buzzer.......YES!!! How Sweet It Is!!
