4M people (maybe half are registered...?) in Harris Co. and under 800k people voted. Pretty pathetic turnout. Is voter apathy that common in midterms here? I'm pretty sure this is down almost 50% from 2008.

    Revolution won't happen in a voter's booth.

Sweet, I made the FBI's list now.

    Found it:

    2002:
    656,682 out of 1,875,777: 35.01% turnout

    2004:
    1,088,793 out of 1,876,296: 58.03% turnout

    2006:
    601,186 out of 1,902,822: 31.6% turnout

    2008:
    1,118,731 out of 1,892,656: 62.81% turnout

    2010:
    797,517 out of 1,917,534: 41.6% turnout

So yeah, we actually had a decent turnout for a midterm.

Edit: more numbers... 1998: 31% turnout... so yeah, best midterm turnout in probably two decades or more.

Looking at the early voting and straight party ticket voting, the Tea Party definitely played a huge factor in Harris County.

How many seats in the House/Senate will be up for grabs in 2012? Another huge turnout means we swing back to the left.

Kinda weird that a giant infrastructure spending proposition passed with the tea party out voting though.

At least we got rid of red light cameras.

    Thank you, Teabaggers!

No more big gubbermint takin' photos of me drivin' on paved roads which magically came into being without any form of socialism!
