The ex is going to sell the engagement ring and wedding band since she owes me so much money. Where is the best and quickest place to do this. Quickest would be ideal for me since I'm sure we can get what she owes me and, honestly, that's really all I care about at this point. Thanks!
if an engagement is called off, the woman is supposed to return the ring. why is she hocking your property to pay you back money that she owes you? the ring is legally yours and she should still pay you back for what ever else she owes.
Because we are married now and going through a divorce. And no, the ring is not legally mine. It was a gift.
Don't know where to tell you to go, but I would definitely avoid a pawn shop. They probably won't give you a very good deal considering they are used to buying things from people desperate for money. If you have all of the paperwork, etc... I would try a reputable local jeweler. If they won't buy from people, they could at least point you in the direction of someone honest Good luck
Called up Michael Klein's, told them I didn't buy the ring there but was a customer, & explained my situation; he gave me the name of a guy (wholesaler & select retail) in the Galleria & that was that. This was about 6 years ago so I don't think I can find his info.
DON'T GO TO A PAWN SHOP! You will get next to nothing for it. Go online and look for local diamond wholesalers or even private/independant jewelry stores. They will actually pay quite a bit more for the ring....although you will still get railroaded compared to what you probably paid for it.
holy crap! i paid 6 for my wife's. $600 that is. And I guess I am not poor, but luckily for me my wifey does not care about jewelery. She has already lost it and is blaming me.
If I were you, I'd have her give you back the ring and sell it yourself. After all, you're the only one who cares how much you get for it.
On Richmond between Hilcroft and fountainview there is a building that houses wholesale jewelery stores. It's right next to Joes Crabshack. Just go in there and visit any of the stores. They won't give you retail value (no one will) but they won't low ball you with Pawn Shop prices.
I hear Houston Gold Exchange on Dairy Ashford & Westheimer or Houston Jewelry at Gessner & Westheimer might be good places. I'm with Fatty though that she should give it back to you so you can do it. I mean you know her better than anyone here RM, but I would hope you wouldn't trust her to sell it herself and then just bring you the cash. Good luck, man.
