why a 7 man rotation tonight...where are we going to get some offensive punch from. dont tell me luther head isnt good enough or wafer or more than 7 minutes for barry. our pg's and mcgrady cant make a shot. also, we have no player movement at all...some of the possessions in the 4th quarter were horrible. the pace of the offense is slow. no transition, no energy coming off a terrible loss is unexplainable. im so mad i dont know how to ring in the new year!!! what has happened to mcgrady. he is not good enough right now. i dont care if its health or a general decline in his athleticism. he is not good enough to be in the rotation. happy fu....g new year!!!!!!!!!!!
Yea I agree with everything you said...now I'm going get my bottle of Jose Cuervo...see you guys tommorow...hopefully...
les give us what you promised les give us what you promised: an uptempo offense. when we fired van gundy, it was to juice up our offense. you said you wanted to be the phoenix suns. where is the follow up? the offense absolutely is stagnant! no energy! les lead the way and make a commitment to follow up on your commitment to the fans.
they're trying to insert brooks in the starting lineup to speed it up. Quite frankly our 2 stars don't want to run. Or rather Yao cant run. Scola is slow but he tries to run and battier is usually too passive to even attempt to run.
I was saying the same thing about the rotation in chat during the game. Why only 7 players getting minutes?? Barry only with 7 minutes on the court so I didn't really count him. I disagree, Tmac couldn't shoot the broad side of a barn to save his life, but he was still effective tonight with his 10 assists (especially since the whole team was shooting like crap - so there were less opportunities for them). I don't know what's wrong with this team, but Artest's post game interview doesn't inspire me. Only giving effort on 40% of the plays.. that makes me sad. If there was one thing I could depend on with this team is that I would see effort both defensively and on the boards. Even when the shots weren't falling. When Charlie V gets three offensive rebounds around Scola and Landry.. I get sad. But let's hope this team kicks it into gear and coach's decisions start to make more sense in the new year
the offense is slightly better than JVG. atleast we arent in a hole in the standings like we usually are under JVG. be glad we are 21-12. not 12-21.
It would be, if T-mac wasn't so slow and wasn't capable of playing in run and gun anymore. Yao could play in it, but he would not be running with them he would just be the outlet passer. The 2nd lineup does the running and gunning.
Yeah but most of those wins have come because of the talent, not because of a system or strategy. When he came to town RA promised to make life easier for Yao Ming and Tmac, as well as unleash the offense. Right now we are playing gundy ball without the defense. Last I checked Deke, Hayes, Wafer and Head are functional players in the team. Why the hell did we only play 7 guys when Aaron Brooks and Tmac were shooting blanks? Landry was killing it but got less playing time. Barry didn't get a single shot, he was pulled to the bench so quickly! As it stands we'll never become healthy enough to do damage in the playoffs with such an incompetent nincompoop as our head coach. How can the main players get their rest when Adelman refuses to use one of the deeper benches in the league? What the hell Adelman, WHAT THE HELL?
I could understand why Adelman would be hesitant to try Head or Wafer against a the combo of Redd & Jefferson. If defense is going to be a issue with Battier out. Maybe the Rockets should try to bring in a player like Mickael Gelabale on a non-guaranteed contract? Hayes's lack of minutes is the only surprise for me.
Brooks starting. 85-81. Uptempo? The Rocket are... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cDAq5tyfk9E&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cDAq5tyfk9E&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
when was the last time a run and gun offense won a nba championship? Im fine with with the half court offense. Its the only way we can effectly use our big 3.
Les doesn't have anything to do with it. Adelman is the coach and the starters don't even like to move around in their half-court offense, much less run the floor on the break. Except for Scola. When your 3 best players don't (or can't) run and push the ball up the floor, you can forget up-tempo. I'd be satisfied if they implemented Adelman's offense more often and ran less set plays.
Sort of like a 40 year old Kareem in the Showtime Lakers? Quick transition has nothing to do with Yao. It's about Alston, McGrady, Battier and Head. None of whom can run the floor. Or, excluding McGrady, can finish strongly at the rim.
