There are numerous previews available but none on the rockets from this website. Yes there are some from posters but I thought the website itself should have a preview. No?
I'm sure Clutch would do it if he had the time. Clutch of 96-99 would have the time for it, but now the focus of ClutchCity is the BBS and the website is secondary. It makes a lot of sense this way since there are a lot more users on the BBS, yet the Clutch Crew has stayed pretty much the same. When most of the crew has to spend time moderating boards and juggling their regular lives it is tough to find the time to write a preview for each individual game. It's a ton of work just to write a recap of each game, update links, find stories to link to, update statistics, etc, let alone writing a unique preview that adds something the standard AP preview doesn't. Maybe if a poster on the board consistently does an excellent job writing previews for games Clutch might start posting them on the front page. B
Not a bad idea but I was referring to the season preview. It is the opportunity that many outlets take to set up the season. To me, CC.net should have one on the rockets. This is not to say that I am complaining about the role the website plays in helping me get ready for the season. In fact I do not know what I would do if there was no site. I am reminded anytime the bbs is down. Having said that I thought with the relatively good access the site has to the team, they are uniquely positioned to preview the team's season.
can you imagine Clutch saying, 'sure honey, sure kids, but another time, because I have to spend this evening writing a season preview for DearRock.' seriously, i doubt you'll get your 100th internet basketball preview, so i guess your little inconsiderate ass will just have to suffer.
Yeah not to be rude but, there are a gazillion and 4 previews of the upcoming season. It has all been said so is really no point. Im sure those guys have enough things to do.
I think DearRock asked a reasonable question in an appropriate way. I also completely understand why Clutch doen't have the time to do it. (I've got little ones myself.) It's amazing to me that he's able to produce the best fan-site anywhere with all the demands on his time. He's CLUTCH! I think the only person being a "little inconsiderate a$$... " is you, Texas Stoke. In my humble opinion, of course.
Ok fellas, lets squash the arguing and get a good preview of the Rockets from the Franchise himself. Stevie Franchise has a 5-minute audio interview on The Sporting News website. Just go to the bottom right part of the page under Exclusive Audio and listen on Real Audio of this interview that took place this morning: http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/ Clip includes: Yao making 'positive strides' - Rockets guard Steve Francis chats with James Brown about the team's expectations of making the playoffs, Yao Ming's introduction to the NBA and challenging the Lakers in the Western Conference.
Thanks Deck. Sorry if I seem demanding and inconsiderate. It is not just Clutch, I think Jeff used to do notes which I have not seen for a while.
Jeff writes a column called "The Truth" or something like that. I'm sure he'll write some more once the season gets going. B
If they don't have that much time to write articles, it is a good sign, because then they might have a lot of work to do. Don't forget, they are doing all of this in their spare time and are providing it for free...and if their main business is going well, continuing to provide it for free might probably be less of a problem. Just my two cents .
with respect to people who help admin the forum you folks do know that this site is 100% clutch right??? i worked with C at a tech company in austin back when he moved the site to dot net. he created it, designed it & writes all the content and spends a ****load of time keeping it up. hell of a guy and nice family too.
