We know from yesterday's Chronicle article something's up between him and JVG and we know it's not good. We also know we're going to need him versus the Lakers. What will win out?

KC must have really done something. Van Gundy's been high on his work ethic all year. We missed him badly while he was injured and almost as soon as he got back he's benched two games running. What the hell is going on?

Maybe he keyed Van Gundy's Civic?

I was listening to 610 after the game and had a post conference interview with Van Gundy and he mentioned it was his decision to not play him, then a reporter asked if he will be ready for the Playoffs and he said we will see in a few days. I think its just JVG making all of us think.

For crying out loud, this isn't the time of year to start pulling power trips on each other.

This kind of stuff wouldn't have been good against Vlade/Webber/Miller either, but man, we just let Oakley go. Who's gonna spell Yao on Shaq? Spoon? Padgett? This seems like a heavy deal to me. Van Gundy doesn't usually like to "keep things internal." And if it's bad enough to maybe sit Cato against the Lakers, it seems like it might be kind of bad.

I don't think Oakley would have been eligible for the playoff since he signed after the playoff roster deadline I believe. I think the Cato situation will be fine. At least it better be fine.

I don't care what he did. To not play our starting power forward against the Lakers would be r****ded. JVG is a disciplinarian, but I don't think he's completely insane.

Oakley would have been eligible. I think it had to do with the fact he wasn't waived before signing here, which is how I think the rule works. People explained it a couple times here.

    I doubt anything happened.

I just think JVG was tierd of answering questions, so he just said that.

I don't know, I hope nothing is going on between them.

We need Cato to stop Shaq when Yao needs a breather.

still one of the funniest things i've ever heard. definitely in the top 10. i mean you can't even make that stuff up.

lance berkman diving between home and first and then turning around to check out the play is also a new funny sports moments top 10er for me.

Last night, Bill Walton speaking of Kelvin Cato said "A good way to get out of the dog house is to play the Lakers. You'll nee every big body you have". Or thereabouts.

are we sure he's in the dog house?

he came back in time to make sure we got into the playoffs --- now he's resting the injury for the playoffs.

Maybe VG is playing mind games making people think there is an issue where there is none

Look ....they guy has been injured...you have a couple of meaningless games, position-wise for the playoffs...why couldn't he simply have been giving him some rest, while taking a hubie Brown approach, and getting some minutes for the other guys in case they are needed in the playoffs?

Sometimes, things are simple. Rest the guy, and let him heal. I don't think this is a case of Cato in the doghouse....
