OK, so its like this: my friend who lives in my apartment complex, and who was also my former coworker and was laid off when I was, just bought the "24" DVD. After he finished watching it, he kept raving about how great it was. I told him it couldn't be better than "The Sopranos." He stated he had never seen it. I was flabbergasted. So on Monday we swapped DVDs. I gave him all 3 seasons of "The Sopranos" and he gave me "24". I really didn't have the urge to watch it, so I let it sit around until today. Plus, with all the baseball playoffs on television, I didn't have time. Well, at 1pm today I was bored senseless. So I finally popped the DVD in and watched it. It is now 8 pm and I have watched 6 consecutive episodes! Where the hell have I been! This show is fantastic! I can't believe I refused to give it a try until now! Keifer Sutherland (sp?) does a great job! I'm actually skipping tonight's playoff game to continue my "24" marathon! I've never allowed any other television programming to supercede sports, b/c well, I'm the biggest sports nut on the planet! I'm actually to the point that I'm upset that there is football on TV this weekend, b/c I won't get to watch any episodes until Monday afternoon! Either I've gone wacko or this is a really good show! Back to watch some more!
Oh man you gotta tell me the alternate ending when you get finished....that show was one of very few decent shows last year.
will do mateo! i officially went through 2 DVDs today. i think its time to finally stop for the day, even though it just got really good!
How da hell did you miss it dr? It is without a doubt the best show on tv period!.. Kiefer rocks, Ive always dug his movies(ever see him and Dennis Hopper in Flashback? hilarious..). ther twists and turns will keep you glued to your seat (as Im sure you are finding out by now). I cant wait till the next season starts..
i can't believe there is a second season. after only 8 episodes of action, i would think Keifer has had enough! I can't imagine surviving this ordeal and not retiring and moving the family out of the country... let alone taking on another similar assignment in season 2!!! edit: by the way, if some family members don't survive, please don't post it here! i'd like to continue watching the show without too much prior knowledge... unfortunately Tony Kornheiser recapped this show every week on his radio show, so I have a little idea of what happens later in the show!
Judging by the commercials I have seen, the plot still is ongoing with Palmer... He is probably still charged with the Senator's protection.. I can't say for sure, I taped the last episode and havent ever watched it all the way thru..I need to go rent the last dvd and see it all.. What do ya think about the blond(his daughter)? Pimp posted some pics from Maxim of her in the "early morning sexual fantasy" thread the other day...she is sooo hot! Wait till you see who the moles are...I never suspected who it was..
I was under the impression that the second season starts with Kiefer having decided to call it quits after the ordeal he and his family had been put through in the first season. But then he gets called back because he's needed for whatever reason. That's the way the teaser they played a few weeks ago made it seem to me anyway.
I'll admit to only seeing one commercial all the way thru(and I was distracted) and parts of it a few other times..so you are probably right. I was presuming based on the conversation I did see him having with Palmer in the teaser.. Still, I cant wait..The anticipation is about equal to my anticipation waiting for Rox ball to start back up..
ok, i finally finished watching today and saw the alternate ending. first, i must say that i'm proud of myself for having the hunch the ENTIRE time that Nina was the mole. The way that the unexpected kept popping up early, i had this sneaking suspicion that we'd find out that Nina was the mole in the last episode, b/c she had helped Jack the most... plus she was keeping his whereabouts secret from the rest of CTU. the only thing was the revelation of her being the mole was in the second to last episode, so i was wrong there! alternate ending was god awful cheesy! exact same as the real ending (starts off when Jack and Kim meet at CTU in the final minutes of the show after Nina has been captured)... Jack goes to look for Teri, but this time Kim comes with him. They go walking, they open a door and Jack sees the dead body with the two people checking it out. He immediately closes the door and tells Kim to wait for him. He runs in screaming if they'd checked the rest of the floor, the guys yell no. Jack enters a room, does a double take and sees Nina slumped in a chair. He rushes to her, but this time she's only knocked out. Jack unties her, she wakes up and starts freaking out b/c she thinks its danger. Jack tries to comfort her and yells "its me jack! its ok!" than he finishes untying her, they hug, and Kim comes running in the room for a group family hug. than they all walk out together, close scene. all i gotta say is thank god they didn't use that cornball ending. as much as i tried to expect the unexpected, i didn't forsee the death of Teri and I thought that was excellent writing by the creators. all-in-all a great show and i can't wait for season 2, when we find out who on earth Nina works for!
I watched the 24 marathon on FX a few weeks back. Man I wasted about 23.5 hours watching that. I saw a few episodes during the year, it came on Tuesday nights when I play basketball, but replayed on FX later on. Great show. I forgot that Teri died... Now if you will only watch DIE HARD!!!
