I am just curious, but I want to know where everybody lives in Houston. I live right near the Horse Track if anyone is interested.
i live on the northwest side of houston by the horse track too. bgm lives on campus at U of H central.
My "grandparents" used to live on West 22nd-- down the street from the old Kaplan's Ben Hur on Yale (?). Are you anywhere near there? I spent many a Christmas in the late 50s and early 60s playing on those broken sidewalks.
First off, why did you put grandparents in quotation marks? Were they just older people you visited at Christmas or something? If you think that Heights is bounded by 4 streets (Shepherd/Durham to the West, 20th to the north, Studewood to the East and I10 to the South), we are straight west near Shepherd and 11th.
I don't live in Houston, I live in the northeastern corner of Arkansas in a town called Jonesboro. If any of you watched WWF Raw last night, which was in Jonesboro at the Arkansas State University Convocation Center, you got a good glimpse of the trash that lives here and what a suck-ass town it really is. I hate it and will be moving to the Houston metroplex area as soon as possible. When I'm in the Houston area I either stay with my aunt up in Porter, she lives pretty close to Deerbrook Mall or my aunt in League City, she lives up the road from Clear Creek High School.
I put my grandparents in quotes because it was really a home for the extended family. My grandfather (who died when I was 4) lived there with one of his sisters (family of 8 kids), one of their older cousins, and a few others along the way. My dad was raised by that family-- having lost his mother at age 2. It was the family gathering spot but with no grandparents there-- most of the time. To me it is the equivalent of people going to their grandparents.
