After reading the Subway $5 footlong thread I got to wondering.....When you want to eat cheaply where do you usually go? Taco Bell (man i miss .59, .79, .99), Jack in the Box (.99 taco's and chicken sandwiches), Wendy's (.99 menu), McDonalds (umm....well for breakfast you can get a biscuit sandwich and hashbrown for $1), Subway (well, maybe not as much as before), Taco Cabana ($2.99 for 2 tacos, chips & queso and a drink), somewhere else? Obviously these are all fast food restaurants since sit down restaurants usually aren't considered cheap, or at least, not this cheap.

Personally, my choice would probably be Jack in the Box. I can get a decent meal for about $4. My second choice would probably be Subway if they have the 6" combo I like on special that day. Taco Cabana comes in a distant third.

Where do you go? Please don't say you eat at home!

    McDonalds
$1 double cheeseburger (no ketchup, no onions, no pickles, no cheese...eat only 1 side of the bun)
    $1 value fries
$1 hot fudge sundae (if I'm craving something sweet)

    or

    Taco Bell
    $.89 fresco style crunchy taco
$1.69 fresco style grilled steak soft taco

Both $3 or less, and as fast food goes they're not terribly unhealthy.

I had McDonalds for the first time in a while lastnight and I can't figure out how I use to eat that stuff so much.

I've been eating the McDonald's chicken wraps lately. Each costs about $1.40 or so. I've also noticed an increased case of the runs. I'm not sure if it's related.

Taqueria. The one nearest my house sells enough food for 2 meals for $5.

    I hate fast food!

A cheap meal is food at home! :)

Ok ok, I would go to subway or quiznos for a cheap meal. :)

Oh, if I want a torta, I go to Del Sol Taqueria...their tortas are only 2 dollars and they are good!

Is that possible? The cheapest 6" sandwich at either place is still what...$3.29? I know Quizno's has the new Sammies, but they're small aren't they?

I don't even know the name. It's in the back of a Mexican Grocery Store on Stadium Road in Port Arthur.

Wendy's .99 nuggets and sour cream and chives baked potato. Add a soft drink and it's $2.97. It's a filling, pretend-healthy meal.

If I ate cheese, I could make many of those for under $5.
