I'm looking to add a new set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A's for my son's pickup truck.

Where do you get the best price/service for your tires?

If you want a good deal but are willing to wait then do what i do, buy the tires from www.tirerack.com , the tires are alot cheaper and all u could get them shipped to your house in 3-5 business days. When i got my tires i took them to discount tire to have them mounted and they charged me $10 per tire with lifetime balance and rotation, i ended up saving around $110.

You could also try discount tire's website, there is a huge difference between instore prices and online prices. If you tell them you saw that price online at their own website, they might match it for you.......im saying might because one manager told me they werent allowed to do it but when i went to another discount tire they told me we could have matched the price for you.

    Agreed.

Can anyone tell me about how often you need to change tires, I've been thinking about getting a new set for my truck.

Discount Tire. They have a great warranty you can take out on 'em if you're flat-prone like me. Only like $25 each time you need a new one.

Yah, their service guys are great and very helpful, and if anything happens to your tires (road hazard or something) they will replace it for you at no cost, you would just have to pruchase a new warranty on the replacement tire (something like $10 usually).

Plus, they have numerous locations around town, so you can take your car to any of them if you have issues, as well as if you want to get your tire rotation/balance etc.

I really recommend Discount Tire, I have taken 4 cars there in the past few years

Well this is slightly related...but I'm looking in the near future to beef up my truck (appearance-wise)...give it a nice off-road look to it...so where's a good, affordable place around town to go... what about All Out Off Road cause they're right near me?

And I always go to Discount...can't beat their prices and service. And from experience...NTW or NTB, whatever the hell its called...sucks in terms of service and price...especially price...and Walmart, well lets not even go there.

I usually just "shop" for my tires. By this I mean I go and stand around a high-volume tire shop until I see a car with the same size tires as mine. I follow the guy home and wait until he goes to sleep and then I read what kind of tires he got and look in the window with a flashlight to see if I can read the receipt in the passenger seat so I can know what to expect to pay when I go and get similar tires.

Don't forget to add in the cost of shipping each tire when you do your calculations.

TireRack.com is great, though. The best prices you get there are when they selectively choose certain tires to put at discount. Sometimes the savings per tire are insane. I remember looking at $120/tire in town and on TireRack.com it was something like $85. Of course, I needed the tire that day, so I had no choice but to pay the in-town price.
