Now that we are finding our identity.....where do we go from here? It's becoming more and more apparent that the Rockets are becoming a defensive first team. And Jabari has set the tone! With him, Tari, KJ and our two 6'6 guards in the back court, the Rockets are making it hard on other teams to score. So my question is, where do we go from here? If I'm Rafeal Stone, I would definitely be on the heels of Myles Turner this off season or at the trade deadline. He is a great shot blocker and can get you buckets under the basket and from the 3pt line. But also, Inwould be looking at Jayden McDaniels too. I wanted him in the draft; he's long, athletic, good defender and he's good from the 3pt line as well. C - Myles Turner 6'11 F - Jabari 6'11 F - Jayden McDaniels 6'10 G - Green 6'6' G - KPJ 6'6
Sengun is still a vital part of the team, I'm just not sure yet if he will fit the Starting unit's identity, if and fact they do become more of a defensive team.
maybe its good for team but sengun may think his own career if he find a team that he can be starter .. win win if rockets think he is a bench player , they can find another bench player instead of him i think sengun can be good in denver, dallas etc. who has european players that control the game..
If we get Turner do you want him to come from the bench or to demote one of Sengun/Jabari? If he starts who will be benched, Jabari or Sengun? Both players are much much better than Turner. Do you think Turner, a starter in Pacers will accept to come from the bench? Turner AT 8th Year: 17.5 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.4 apg in 29.4 mpg Sengun AT 2nd Year : 14.6 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 2.2 apg. in 26.8 mpg Jabari AT 1st Year : 12.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 30.5 It seems that you will suggest Jabari to be demoted but don't forget, he is a rookie. If Sengun and Jabari only gets Turner's stats at 8th year both should be considered "bust". Why you want to make Rockets worse to replace a mediocre player with one of the better one? Both Sengun and Jabari are more talented and dearer than average Turner. What is your agenda? Do you think Turner will accept Garuba/Bruno role in this team? OK, this was the question I asked you in another thread and you did not answer. ASKING AGAIN:Why you want to put lots of mediocre players to Rockets roster? Why you hate Rockets that much? Why you don't want Rockets to be champion in 3-5 years time. What Tari made you to decide to ignore him. Why 8th year Alpi 17/8 stats woud be bust but you want to give max to mediocre Turner? Hope you are man enough to answer basic questions.
I don't see this as a defense first team at all. I think our entire starting lineup is poor defensively. Bari has stepped it up recently and obviously shows promise, but our guard defense remains terrible. I haven't watched Jaden McDaniels, but is he really an upgrade over moving Tari into the starting lineup?
Damn! You're right. Lol I'm not trying to get rid of Sengun, I like him but if the Rockets are indeed becoming a Defensive first team, does he really fit? Will it benefit his skill set?
Turner is a logical free agent add. Sengun has always made the most sense off the bench. Same minutes, more shots.
You’re spot on, which is why I’m not big on his fit. I know he’s a good player, but I just have different taste. @Clutch feels the same way too
You forgot the MAIN stat why I and many GMs across the league will want Myles Turner. He's shooting 42% from 3 and he has 2.4 Blk per game. No one in our lineup has that. My thought is to start him and Jabari and bring Sengun off the bench IF the team is going for a Defense First Identity.
I dont think most of GMs across the league will think like that. Just wait to see who will give him max to understand your level of GM, if exists. Myles Turner is a mediocre player, career averages are 12.7 points, 6.7 rebs, 1.2 assists, 48.9 % fg. terrible stats and you want him to start over over Sengun whose second year stats are much better than that dude. You are a hopeless case. Sengun hate made you blind/crazy. You might have a heart attack soon because Sengun will play in Houston much longer than you expected. Get some medical help.
In regards to your other questions :Why you want to put lots of mediocre players to Rockets roster? First of all, you can not have All-Stars at every position. It's becoming apparently clear that Jalen and Smith will be Stars. Even the Warriors and Celtics only have two All-Stars but if you add Myles Turner, I think he can KPJ will be the other two mainstays that you need. Why you hate Rockets that much? That's not worth answering. Been a fan since forever. Why you don't want Rockets to be champion in 3-5 years time. Same as above. Not worth answering What Tari made you to decide to ignore him. I love Tari and he just might be our future SF. Why 8th year Alpi 17/8 stats woud be bust but you want to give max to mediocre Turner I never said anything about giving Myles Turner a Max Contract. I dont think any GM will but I think what he brings, he offers more to the Rockets if they are to become a Defensive First Team.
If this team is truly going to become a defense first team, then either KPJ or Green is going to have to become a much better defender. A defensive front court can cover up a lot of mistakes for one bad defender in the back court, but it can only do so much if both guards are turnstiles. And honestly, you really should only tolerate a turnstile guard if he is offsetting his defensive laps with lots of buckets/offensive creation - I can see Green getting to such a level but I don’t think KPJ will. So with all that said, I’d rather replace KPJ with a top defender at the guard position instead of replacing Sengun with a mediocre rim protector like Turner. Someone like a less injury prone Lonzo Ball would be a perfect fit and worth dropping big $$$ on.
Your stats for Myles Turner changes from above. You went from 17 ppg to 12.7 ppg and from 7.9 rebs to 6.7 but like I said, my main stat for him is his 3pt % and Blk. If he can spread the floor and avg 2.4 Blk per game with this team...COME ON MAN, EVEN YOU HAVE TO LOVE THAT.
KPJ has no starting role in a contending Rockets. He is good only for tanking people or the ones has no BBIQ. There is a proverb: Lame guy buys a blind horse.
if you could read, wish you had a better teacher at your primary. One of them this year figures, the other averages. Damn, how I hoped that you would understand without further explanation. My bad, sorry, I consider everyone has a normal understanding. Next time I will explain you as if I am explaining to BILAL.
I said who I wanted, which is Myles Turner and by the way, I hardly call leading the league in blocks per game mediocre. So, who is a less injury prone Lonzo Ball?
