I've been carrying around a broken-ass remote for over a year and its driving me nuts. I'd get a whole new alarm, but $$$ is an issue right now.

    Suggestions?

I tried once and found the entire process to be a MAJOR pain in the ass. If at all possible, I would just replace the entire system.

I think most locksmith stores have some kind of a replacement thingy.

Seriously? Maybe I wasn't clear....all I need is the new casing that the electronic thing goes into....the plastic piece where the key chain loops through is broken.

Ok, maybe that'd be easier to have fixed. I lost one of my remotes and went swimming with the other in my pocket. I had a hard time finding replacement remotes, and in the end wish that instead of trying to find replacements that I would have just bought a replacement system as the remotes I have now don't completely work right.

Actually it's not that hard. They just have to program it.

Try Stereo-FX on North Freeway. I replaced my Viper two-way pager that broke. They're prices are reasonable. Tell that what you need they should be able to help you.

Well I own a shop thats next to Memorical City Mall. Maybe I can help you out.

What kind of remote is it?

Is it a factory remote or is it an after market one?

OooooOOOoooh, goodie. I'd rather go to a BBS'er anyway.

After market. Its an ancient Carbine remote and system. It began to malfunction a few years back, so I disabled the siren and basically just used the alarm for the kill switch and to lock/unlock my doors. The remote still works; just the casing is broken.

Of course, my door lock actuators are shot, so I've got to fix those anyway, but being able to carry the remote with my keys instead of separately would be great.

If you want to give me a deal on a new system and fix my door locks, I'd entertain the idea. Money is kind of tight at the moment.

Do you do tinting as well?

I'd pimp your shop on here, MySpace, etc.

What's your business number and who should I ask for? I'm about to go to work, but I could come by tomorrow as I live in Spring Branch.
