I think it was purely a matchup decision. Baron Davis is a strong PG that likes to post up the defender. Notice have Battier was guarding him. Brooks would have been too much of a defensive liability. Although, I will say the way Rick the Ruler does his rotations are confusing. You never know who is going to play for us. I expect Bob Sura to get some minutes next game.

Ellis is 6-3 and one of the top offensive guards in the league.

ellis may be listed at 6'3 but is closer to 6'1...you play brooks despite the matchups if he is good....

I also wondered why he didn't play right about the time Luther Head hesitation to pass to Yao in the post or move the ball quickly to the weak-side when Yao was fronted stagnated the offense. Brooks penetration could have opened up the offense more, plus he does a very good job of moving the ball. I don't know why Adelman didn't replace Luther with Brooks and Bonzi with Scola. Luther is such a scaredy cat when Yao is fronted, he goes into melt down and Bonzi was just not himself today ... he looked spaced out.

You may not be obsessed with Brooks. IMO, I fully support and understand that Rick only gave Brooks 4 miniutes.

you're only allowed to have brooks or snyder. i know these are your children, your babies, but you can only have one of them on the court.

I wouldn't put both on the floor at the same time. They're both Rookies. (sorta)

Rather deal with one guy making Rookie Mistakes on the court than two of them.

And then there's Rafer, but that's a different thread.

I think adelman see the obvious mismatch between Brooks and the GSW players. So he did not get a lot PT. We need strong perimeter defense coupled with an agile, quick defensive team to beat them. The Jazz is a good team that suit up GSW well.

anyone with eyes could see brooks was a mismatch guarding anyone on the warriors. the 4 mins he was in they took it to him every time and he could barely hold his ground. rafer could at least contest ellis' shot. this is why brooks wont be a starter anytime soon.

Brooks will be a matchup problem his entire career because of his size. We KNEW that when we drafted him. So to use it as an excuse as to why he is not getting any playing time after playing good is ridiculous.

Again, Rick Adelman's decision making is the poorest on this team this year, worse than Rafer's shooting. :(

I was wondering myself why Brooks didn't get some more clock in this game. The rockets could have used his quickness.

Adelman made the same mistake that JVG made last year, he ran his starters/regulars into the ground and when it got to the 4th quarter they ran out of gas.

Bad job by Adelman last night.

With just 15 pts in the 4th quarter, why not play Brooks. Rafer went 2-9 from the 3pt line, give me a break.

Why not? Our offense was completely lifeless at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Brooks could have been a difference there.

And I don't want to hear this nonsense that Brooks can't guard Baron Davis. Rafer can't either, which is why neither of them were ever assigned to him. Battier was doing a fine job against Davis, and you can defend Monte Ellis with quickness. Brooks has plenty of that.
