23 points against single coverage by the worst starting power forward in the NBA.

It's time "Da Kid" became "Da Man" and made like Hakeem Olajuwon and dropped 40 on someone.

Nowitzki or Duncan would have roasted Madsen.

This excuse of facing hard teams is really wearing thin for Minny. All teams are hard in the playoffs. If KG wants to be paid like a man he needs to get off his soft ass and play like one. No one doubts his talent, but his heart come playoff time is very questionable.

KG is not an offensive beast. He does a lot of things very well. He can rebound, play D, pass. But he's not going to dominate on one-to-one play. Minny just needs more talent to help him carry the load.

The Timberwolves actually played all right.

They lost because the Lakers...well actually...Kobe Bryant was just awesome.

This just goes to show that Kevin Garnett is not good enough by himself to lead his team to a championship.

He needs another superstar to play alonside for any of his teams to do serious damage in the playoffs.

Is it me or did Minn come out looking like they KNEW they had no shot at all to win?
    Oh well.

No one and their momma expects the Twolves to win.

T-Wolves are in a position where they're just good enough to be in the playoffs, but bad enough to get eliminated in the 1st round. That leaves them with a mediocre cast outside of KG, and no lottery draft picks they can get to improve upon. Honestly if I were the T-Wolves, I'd wait for a draft year when there would be the next big thing for the future of the NBA in a #1 Draft pick, pull a San Antonio and tank the season, hopefully get the #1 Draft pick, and build off two superstars oppose to one. Wally is good, but like all the announcers have been saying, truly great scorers initiate contact, and Wally is just a perimeter shooter. He makes for an excellent role player, but he'll never be a truly good scorer.

KG's a special all-around player (certainly one of the best in NBA history). But 1 major problem for him currently is that he's not quite strong enough in the post like Shaq, Hakeem, Duncan etc and also he's not quite quick enough on the perimeter like Jordan, Kobe, T-Mac, Iverson etc. I know he's an unselfish player but he simply needs to find/develop a way to become a MORE DOMINANT player especially on the offensive end. With the poor teammates around him, there's absolutely no reason for him NOT to put up at least 35 pts.

He really needs to do it or I am afraid he will be labled as a Pippen (i.e. superstar role player) rather than a Jordan (i.e. The Man) again.

Pls step it up. I am rooting for you, KG. :(

Madsen is a decent defender, FWIW. Mainly because he goes all out, all the time. When you have a guy who has 6 fouls to burn, as well as playing hard 110% of the time, it's a pain in the ass to post up on him.

Anyone remember Charles Jones from the Rockets? My family and I used to always call him turkey nose. Anytime he'd come in the game to sub in for Hakeem his only job was to foul almost any time up the court. It worked especially well in the Magic Finals :D

Grant Hill:" Don't cry son, come to papa."

Garnett, sobbing:" I knew it, like father like sons."

Maybe we should trade for Garnett....yeah, that's the ticket. 'T'would take the whole damn roster, tho, to match that salary.

I don't think it really matters if he was in the Eastern Conference, Garnett should attack like T-Mac because playing team ball for them hasn't worked for quite sometime (6 Years?). Its all about mismatch and Garnett needs to attack.

Garnett is the most over rated player in the NBA.

He can not create a shot for himself, and his skinny frame leaves him far from dominant in the paint.

IMHO he is a star player, but not a superstar player.

23 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists. I really can't blame the man. And this year, I can't blame his team either. Do you guys realize who they're playing? The friggin' Lakers. I think Minny could've beaten any team but them, the Spurs, or the Kings this year. Or at least had a sporting chance.

L.A. was just on fire yesterday, perhaps on Tuesday they won't be, and KG and Minny can capitalize.
