the celtics are currently on an 18 game losing streak. that's pretty impressive in its suckiness. they play milwaukee tomorrow at home and, on paper, that's their best chance to end the streak in their next 6 games. after the all-star break, they go on a 5 game western road trip to face sacramento, phoenix, the lakers, utah, and then us. after that they get new york and new jersey, but by then they would've tied the record of 24 straight losses. so how long will the streak last? did i just jinx it and it's ending tomorrow? can they upset a west team since seemingly every time a streak seems likely to break a record it ends in the strangest possible way? do they break the record? do they ever win again? edit: that should say they "can't" beat milwaukee.
i hope the streak ends before they get to us. obviously i think we can beat them but odds-wise they have to win sometime.
They will beat Milwaukee, no doubt about it. Paul Pierce guarranteed a victory over the Bucks, who are without Redd. Things are real desperate for the Celtics right now, if they don't win this game they'll be the subject of ridicule over all star weekend (no celtics made the team but you know a few are going to be there partying). After the ASB, the Celtics head out on a west coast trip and have a legit shot at breaking the all time losing record, so every player and coach there knows that they have to handle Milwaukee. All signs lead to a Celtics blow out victory over Milwaukee.
I hope the Celtics continue to lose and they get the first pick in the draft. It is a good year to be bad in the NBA, with the talent that will be available this year. Imagine how different their franchise would be had they gotten the first pick and drafted Tim Duncan. Luck has a great deal to do with sports, and that is a good example of it. The NBA needs both the Celtics and Knicks to improve, I think.
It would be funny if they lost the lottery and slip out of the first 2 picks, meaning they won't get either Durant or Oden. The Celtics brought this upon themselves, they could have still had a decent team even without getting Duncan. I really don't like Paul Pierce's game (I think he's just a stat guy that can never carry a team to a ring), but if you can't build a decent team around him then you deserve to suck, it's like the Orlando team with Tracy. All their coaches have been crap, Danny Ainge has been crap as GM, they need to replace him and start from scratch.
haha, i don't think you jinxed anything. this has been discussed nonstop by a million ppl.. if anyone jinxed it, it was everyone in the sports world. and yeah, against milwaukee.. no redd, mo williams in a mini slump...it'll come against them i think
They really did beat the bucks tonight. Good for them. I did vote for them beating the bucks, anyone see the game?
Same team who helped end our 13 game slide a few years back... count on the Bucks to give downspiraling teams a break.
