Takin from BBC.com Dozens are reported injured in the attack At least 10 people have been killed and dozens more injured in an Israeli attack on a residential building in Gaza. An Israeli plane attacked a two-storey building in the north of Gaza City, which is reported to belong to Salah Shahada - the founder of the military wing of Hamas. A BBC correspondent in Jerusalem says Mr Shahada was number one on the Israeli list of wanted Palestinians in Gaza. The Israeli military has yet to comment on the attack. Revenge threat Initially, Hamas said that Mr Shahada had been killed in the attack. But later Hamas official Ismail Haniyeh said only that his wife and three of his children had died. It is still not clear whether Mr Shahada himself was killed, with some reports saying that he was wounded. "Not only will Hamas take revenge for the martyrs, all the Palestinian people will unify to revenge for the blood of the martyrs," said Mr Haniyeh. Palestinian police officer Jamal Halaby said he saw the missile streaking across the sky, followed by the sound of a large explosion. "I fell out of my bed and I found myself a minute later covered in dust and stones, and the sounds of my children screaming and crying," he told the Associated Press. Israeli forces have struck twice at Gaza in the past few days. They have targeted workshops where they believe Palestinians mortars and rockets used to target Jewish settlements. Clash Earlier on Monday, at least one Palestinian was killed and two Israelis wounded in a clash in the southern Gaza Strip. Reports say Israeli troops opened fire on a group of armed Palestinians seen near a Jewish settlement. In another development, Palestinian police arrested the head of the Palestinian Authority's customs and tax department on charges of corruption, AFP reported. It said Nasser Tahbub was arrested in Ramallah as part of the authority's promised crackdown on corruption. He was later released.
unfortunately, the precise words that rockHEAD used came to my mind after reading the thread title and post.
Sad..... You would think that the Palastinians would look at how many of them are dying and think...hmmm...we are losing...why not try another tactic...like .......negotiating for peace? Disgusting on both sides..... DaDakota
Why should I be outraged about this article? These folks in Hamas all get 72 virgins in Paradise while I have to go to work tomorrow! (I am officially desensitized to this violence. When a majority of Palestinians say they will support Iraq against the United States, I can only wish for their defeat and subjugation until they disavow their violent culture.)
I think it was in the "guitar solo" thread, but it'll end soon enough... if you view it this way I guess, or not, but "The Messiah Will Come Again" and won't that be the end? And pretty much what rockHEAD said.
Although I'm leaning towards this perception, I will always have some hope for peace. (this really makes me sad) RR
Wow, I can only imagine what you must think of America with its murders, gun violence, rapes, police beatings, incarceration rates, racial violence, etc.
Didn't you hear? The KOran was mis-interpreted...they actually get to meet up with 72 Virginians..and boy are they gonna be pissed to meet em after 9/11.. (Sorry for the flippant remark Jeff....it's a defense mechanism when confronted with senseless violance and carnage.) The pessimist in me says there will never be peace over there....but the sunshine-a$$ in me wants to believe that peace is possible...
The people closest to this conflict don't seem to have much regard for their own lives. Is it really that inconceivable that Americans are (or have become) indifferent towards this whole affair?
Hmmmmm, American culture is as violent as Palestinian culture? LOL, that is a good one. Didn't you hear? The KOran was mis-interpreted...they actually get to meet up with 72 Virginians..and boy are they gonna be pissed to meet em after 9/11.. Now that is funny.
