    Wow...!

    Wow...!

    Nothing else to say!

One question though, when was this trade agreed? ie...did NJ deal us their number seven for our three picks BEFORE the draft began (ie...they didn't know a potential superstar would fall to number 7)

IF that was the case...I don't think they can be criticised too much...

IF they traded AFTER taking Eddie...then are they INSANE???????????

    WHAT A DAY [IMG]

I'm pretty sure it was AFTER.

What REALLY surprises me is that New Jersey didn't try and get rid of some of their dead contracts with this pick...

    Seriously, are they nuts?

Even if they'd of included Mcillvane or something...perhaps for Cato.

Even if we'd have had to take on some of their crap...it STILL would have been a great trade for us. We suddenly have two potential superstars and a load of cap room.

    CD and Rudy are LEGENDS!

From what I understand, the Nets and the Rockets had spoken about it previously, but it would only go down if one of 3 or 4 players were available at the 7 spot.

From what i read on nba.com, the deal was agreed on right before Shane Battier was selected by the Grizzlies.

It doesn't make sense for New Jersey to trade after getting Eddie Griffin. It just goes to show you should never underestimate the stupidity of others.

The trade was first dicsussed seriously when Jason Richardson went #5 and it actually went down when Boston was picking at #10. New Jersey selected Griffin knowing the Rockets were interested in him, and talked deal from there.

None of the Rockets' picks (13, 18 and 23) were players the Rockets chose - New Jersey told them who to pick obviously.
