This is not a question about "selfishness". It is a question about styles.

In Yao's favorite slow, half-court game, Steve can't prosper.

But in Steve's fast-paced, wide-open game, Yao will be exhausted by the end of first quarter.

For great talents like SF and Yao, underuse either one is a shame.

true, ut you can say that for teams like the lakers. Kobe and shaq adjusted to each others games to win 3 championships. There are ways. And the right way isnt benching yao or steve and having them play one at a time, or trading one of them.

    Steve Francis... fast... wide-open? Whaaa...?

He doesn't fast break. When he does, he screws up.

No, Francis' prefers a style of play that consists of him dribbling around aimlessly for 18 seconds, trying to find a way to get to the hoop, then either dishing to someone or scoring himself.

That's not "fast." It just encourages mediocrity. And it certainly doesn't involve throwing the ball to the post often.

While I agree about a style conflict, it's just not for the reason you suggest.

There is a style conflict,so what? Trade one of them for your "theory"?---'For great talents like SF and Yao, underuse either one is a shame.'

In fact, the similar conflict exists in Lakers. They handle it well and lead to 3 Champions mainly due to OK-combo.Having a potential dominant Center and a talented Guard as our asset, we should be a powerful Champion contender in decade. The two guys are our cornerstones.Trading either of them is an asinine blunder!
