It was just all talk to fill up the newspaper. Talk of change, everybody "steps up" to take the blame.....makes for some good articles.
we started making trades at this point last leason (17 games). i'm sure CD has a few trades on the table. thats the way he works. remember the comment after trading for alston? said something to the effect of "there were a few trade offers we were holding onto and given mike james' contract situation this is the direction we chose to go in." if he has some offers on the table, then he surely won't pull the trigger after a win. i wouldn't be surprised to hear a trade was made today if we lost against boston. but we won and so he won't mess with anything yet. now we go on a long road trip. the hope being that this team pulls together with tmac back. the road is where chemistry is developed since the guys spend so much time together. this 6 game trip is perfect for that. i doubt a trade happens before the trip is over (unless it becomes a losing streak).
You mean Chuck Hayes is not big enough of a change? My guess is CD and JVG is giving this current squad one final chance partly because they dont want to look stupid, partly because there are not worthwhile trades out there to our benefits.
