What is all the hold up about? I can't help but to think that he is somewhat holding out for another team to change his mind ala Turkoglu. If it was simply for the mid-level exemption, then why hasnt he signed on the dotted line? Or are they trying to do a sign and trade with LA?
It may having something to do with him having to wait till july 8th so he can legally sign.... But thats just me...
he'll sign on wednesday. the 8th is the first day free agents are allowed to sign contracts, rather than just agree to terms.
Once the July Moratorium is over. In other words, July 8th. Ideally, Morey could just approach Ariza's camp with handshake deal stating "Hey, you're our guy. Do us a favor and wait until the league grants us our disabled player exception. That way, we can sign you to the same big contract that you seek only we can add a couple more players to make the team better in the process". But sadly, there's too many variables in this scenario. The league could deny us the exception, Ariza could become offended by the suggestion, etc. Looks like Morey will do the safe thing and just ink him first chance he gets. Not that I disagree, just saying it would be nice to explore our options.
word on the streets said the lakers having cold feet with ron ron. they finally gave in to david lee's demands renegotiating a deal worth up to 55 million for 5 years.
You're new here so in case you haven't already heard, anytime you present a "breaking news" type post like this you MUST PROVIDE A LINK/SOURCE.
I can't believe nobody has answered your question yet, but the reason is that nobody can sign until July 8th.
