Yet another great memory that came up in my YouTube mix. Sometimes we forget just how phenomenal Hakeem was.

Also check out Otis Thorpe with some Clyde the Glyde at the 3:10 mark.

Beautiful! Just what I needed to see. Hakeem having a monumental game, Otis playing like a madman, Mitch, Lew, Sleepy, Max, even Buck Johnson all contributing. Bill and Calvin. Thanks, @rocketsjudoka!

what's still so crazy is that hakeem's quadruple-double that got disallowed happened in the same month! he was 1 assist away from 2 quadruple-doubles in one month.

Stunning. He had such strong, quick hands, an amazing leaper. Hakeem could be a blur. On defense, he was reaching shots no one else had a chance to get to and so often followed the block with grabbing the rebound, or tipping the ball to a teammate. Simply brilliant. Scoring in the post in this game, he was getting offensive boards, the second shot and looking just like Moses. Just insanely good, and he elevated the play of those around him. You can see it. We were privileged to witness these games. Hakeem was playing at a level rarely approached, and he did it for so many years, consistently.

The adjectives seem inadequate. Spectacular, incredible, unmatched. Greatness never before seen in this league. Yes, we were lucky, and calling ourselves lucky seems inadequate as well.
