everybody is sick of talking about the Battier is Swift to be Gay trade. If we kept Gay and people are saying he is going to be good in 3 years, could we be champions by then.Is this going to be the pattern for the Rockets in the coming season not to rely on rookies. Now we acquired Battier, do you think we can win now or few years time and the direction of the team is to acquire veterans who will adapt to Yao/Tmac.the best question is "are we going to win the championship with the direction we are going or we will only win after Tmac/Yao era?"

Was this a trick question ? Because we're winning next year, in two years, in three years, and in four.

Best shot will be in 2 years, this upcoming season they will get valubable experiance going deeper into the playoffs and they'll make over the top the following year

If everyone stays healthy... we have a shot to win the title in any of the next 3 years. Potentially 3-peating (though very unlikely.)

Personally, I voted next year. I think with the addition of Battier and MJ (hopefully) we'll have all the pieces in place for a title run. We need to pick up another backup PF/C even if we start Battier at PF (Cato perhaps). Our bench is a little deeper than it gets credit for. Head, Alston, Hayes, Deke, Wesley, Bogans, and Howard are all serviceable backups. Acquiring MJ is the final piece of the puzzle.

I always have the "next year" type of mentality after a bad season. I even owe some of my friends money after I bet them that the Rockets would make the playoffs... and that was when they only had like 15 games left lol

Both TMac and Yao are top players in the league (when they are healthy), but I seriously doubt the ability and decisions of the Houston Management. They will WASTE the talents of TMac and Yao.

i think its more of JVG wasting the talents of swift.i think we should make a poll if jvg is going to be fired or not.i believe if jvg is not able to put the rockets in the top eight when december comes, he is probably fired

Agree. This trade kill me.We have the worst bench in the league.A team didnt have bench depth wont go far in the playoff.
