When did Moochie pass Cato as the most hated Rocket on this board?

Also, since Cato is apparently not really pond scum to be traded for a pair of sweaty socks after all, do we owe him an apology or something?

Moochie passed Cato up this past season where he just flat out sucked. Why should we owe Cato an apology? He should have been playing like this since the get go.

I may be too subtle here. My point is are se so sure of our opinions. Cato was the devil's child for the last few years. Now we basically like him. Is it possible Mooch just had a bad year?

On the other hand, it is our right to say what we want, isn't it.

Uh oh, arguing with myself. Pretty much always a sign to shut up.

Funny, I thought the most hated Rocket was Mobley.

I believe Cato isn't as hated cause he played well enough that he could be used as trade bait.

As for Mooch, he just stinks.

With that hair, it looks as if the only thing Moochie passed was gas.

There should be nothing but love for every single Rocket. Every player on any team has there share of ups and downs, no one is perfect. They are Rockets, part of the best team in the world - I got nothing but good things to say about all of em.

hopefully he wont play as badly as he has for the remainder of his contract... and there is a team optout or option in his contract (i'm in an optimistic mood now:))

Amen. It's really pathetic how his level of play dropped after getting the money. We need to throw him into a deal a some point. Or the chump needs to start playing like his contract... hell, like half his contract would be an improvement.

None of the Rockets are hated by me!!! I love them all! But I hate how Moochie plays.....Cato is also overpaid like Moochie but I like his energy off the bench....and our center combo is one of the best! He has improved...or looks better now in limited minutes. MOOCHIE.....HE SUCKS! But maybe the new coach will make him a fine player!

I remember before last season people on the BBS were saying that Moochie is better than alot of other starting point guards, now people on the BBS claim that they can take Mooch 1 on 1. Things change quickly

i have nfi if it's in there or not, just hoping. I recall reading that his contract wasn't garanteed for it's entire life (either here or in the chronicle), but can't confirm it as true.

I would like to think they would've learnt at least one thing from the mistake that was the maloney contract (they obviously didn't learn the "don't give a large contract to a backup PG" rule :D).

Moochie Norris became the most hated Rockets when he began playing like the worst player in the league. Its pretty simple. I don't think I've ever seen a player perform as poorly as Moochie. I'd rather have Ed Cota running the team at this point... Anything but Moochie.

Moochie had one amazing game, the Indiana double (triple?) overtime. That's where Steve fouled out and Moochie took over, and the crowd began chanting "MmMmmmmMMmooooOoooooOoooooooo," since every time the anoucer said the guy's name, he didn't have time to finish it before he had to say it again for another steal or three pointer.

I guess, a lot of us feel slighted because he showed us a great heart and a nack for last second herioics that year, and since then, he hasn't done squat.

Moochie was a fan favorite due to his personality and the fact that he was an unheralded CBA lifer that was playing above his ability.

When he received a large contract after a long hold out and then came in overweight and underperformed. People began to look at his game more critically and his flaws were magnified and discussed endlessly here.

Cato arrived in Houston and was almost immediately given a large contract and hailed as the successor to Hakeem Olajuwon. He immediately underperformed and was hated on this board. Last year after expectations had dropped so low for him he actually performed decently and exceeded many fans lowered expectations of him.

Moochie's faults are magnified in the Zone defense era.

He was good in an iso offense, but those don't work against a zone if you can't shoot from the outside, and Mooch can't.
