911 was excessive, but why didn't they just give her a refund?

I've been pissed off at fast food chains, also.

McDonalds better take care of her. Pay the fines, lawyer, whatever. I am just surprised they didn't beat and/or taze her.

I'm gonna get me some McNuggets for the drive home.

PS - While it wasn't an emergency, what was she supposed to do in this situation? They took her order for McNuggets. She paid for McNuggets. They didn't have McNuggets and refused to give her the money back. The situation would have been resolved had they just given her the money back. What recourse did she have?

IIRC in the Burger King drive thru incident where they wouldn't get the order right so the woman called 911, BK offered to give her her money back, but she didn't want it, she just wanted a cheeseburger made her way. I can see in this situation this woman deserved to be cited for calling 911.

I don't understand how she would have given McD's money unless she had already ordered the nuggets and they had charged her for them. Obviously, this isn't a 911 emergency situation but McD's screwed her over. If you don't have McNuggets, then don't let people order them and don't charge people for a product you don't have. McD's is just as stupid as this woman.

Calling 911 was a little extreme, but what McDonald's did was complete BS. If she ordered McNuggets and you don't have them, then give her a refund.

I've received a refund before when I paid for a McFlurry and the lady didn't know the machine was being cleaned. I didn't realize they had a no refunds policy.

    When did McDonald's institute a no-refund policy?

She should have called the 1800 center and resolved it from there...they would have made sure she got her money back and they probably would have hooked her up with some extra stuff.

When I worked at the mall my boss wanted me to get him a cheeseburger from the food court and they had closed at 8:55 instead of 9p.m....so when I came back empty handed he called them and complained and was compensated with something. (I just dont remember what they gave him)
