Personally, gtfo Houston...it's a death trap due to being a huge population center with the warm weather, not to mention there would be some insane looting and Texans all have 10 guns each. Go somewhere colder where you can hunt down the frozen roamers in the winter.

Fort is raised, preferably in the forest.

Main weapon is a sword or a hammer with reach, because weight will matter when your caloric intake is low and you're constantly fatigued. Armor needs to be lightweight as well for the same reasons.

Group would be high skillset or at least hard workers that pick up skills fast.

Zombie, courtesy of Don the Beachcomber
    • 1 oz White Puerto Rican Rum
    • 1 oz Gold Puerto Rican Rum
    • 1 oz 151-proof Demerara Rum
    • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
    • 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
    • 1 oz Unsweetened Pineapple Juice
    • 1 oz Passion Fruit Syrup
    • 1 tsp Demerara Simple Syrup
    • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
    • 1 Sprig of Mint
    • Pour all ingredients into a shaker, adding enough crushed ice to show above the surface of the liquid.
    • Shake vigorously for around 15 seconds, until a light frosting starts to form on the outside of the shaker. Pour unstrained into either a Zombie glass, or alternatively a Collins.
    • Create your garnish by first bruising the mint and then placing it down the side of the glass into the ice.

If Shaun taught me anything it's that I should carry a cricket willow.

Aluminum baseball bat is pretty good due to light weight and reach but not as handy as a hammer or a sword. Swords are a little more intimidating to humans, too.

Three weeks worth of supplies from costco, then binge watch zombie flicks on netflix to offset doom scrolling.

Not sure but it involves "Master of Puppets" being blared and a lot of firing of weapons.

Are we talking about 'Walking Dead' super slow/stupid zombies or we talking about the 28 days later type.

If a disease makes society collapse it's logical that it will be highly transmissible and cause one or more of the following in humans:

    1) Paralysis or rapid death
    2) Aggression/violent behavior

If a disease required fluid transmission and just turned people into shambling flesh munchers we could control that rather quickly and easily.

So, prepare for the 28 days later/TLOU scenario. Not TWD.

Good thing there’s very little public transit in Houston

I've flown out of a Lithuanian airport and had a very pleasant experience.

I dunno. Whatever you think is going to happen.

Zombies also have superhuman strength due to the lack of pain. They can use their muscles until there's damage.

Always thought I'd head to walmart or costco and hope people are cool with us locking it down. Lots of food and supplies, etc.

But, now that you mention population, maybe I could pack up and head to my sisters. They live in Forestburg tx with like no neighbors other than her mother in law. Perhaps that would be a good place, but their house is kind of small.

Do zombie rules even allow aluminum bats? I mean I’m old school, but prefer not to use a wood bat.

Not sure what my plan is yet, but since you brought it up I’ll be working on one.

I’ll tell you what I won’t do…I’m not pulling a Bill Murray and dressing up like a zombie. That’s the beginning of my plan.

SuperWalmart > Costco. Guns n Ammo dept, large pharmacy. Pick one close to a Home Depot or similar store, raid that for all the lumber/hardware (nails & screws)/non-electric tools you can haul. And LYE...people gonna s**t, gotta keep it sanitary.

Because you know the power is going out eventually:

    1. all unfrozen perishable food: make as much jerky as you can, can/pickle as much veggie as you can, everything you need to do it will be in that store, eat all the stuff like greens/seafood/bakery breads that can't be preserved.
    2. all frozen food, mass produced bread: eat this next, and all non-cheese dairy (hard cheeses and butter can last longer than you think)
    3. lock up, under armed guard, all canned goods/alcohol/cooking fuel/pharmacy goods. Armed guards on the gas tanks too.
    4. ration all the bottled water/cokes/fruity drinks/etc....

I'm skipping some stuff, but you could make do for quite a bit in there, depending on number of people.
