I was originally going to make this a thread about your favorite and least favorite thing. But then I realized I have too many things that I like about BC to pick one :D.

Anyway, my least favorite thing is how homogenous this place is. Barron's ranked us the #1 most homogenous school in the country last year. We're about 79% white... mostly well-off, mostly catholic (though I'm from a middle-class, Protestant background).

Most of the time, it doesn't really bother me. But it does seem weird that I have entire classes with no minorities at all, occasionally (granted, they're small, but still).

I generally actually think multi-culturalism is a bit overrated... but I wish I'd had the opportunity to be exposed to a little more while in college.

I tell you, college would rule if it wasn't for those classes getting in the way. That's my main beef. :D

Seriously though, I'm bummed that UNC doesn't offer a music technology degree. They have a few classes, but not a degree. When I first came here, I wanted to perform, now I'm leaning towards studio work, and I don't want to transfer because a music degree from here carries a lot of weight.

I'd have to say not having a straight up steady income to rely on. That is the only thing that is difficult about working for yourself. I wouldn't change it, but it can be nerve racking if you go a while without a payday. :)

i hate the actual getting up and going to work...the sitting around all day and surfing this website is the best part about my job...working with high doses of radiation every now and then sucks...messing up experiments after spending 3 days on them sucks too...

i think they should make a whole day where everyone isn't allowed to do anything.

they should call it: sleep or we will kill you day

The thing I hate about my college...just about everything. My school makes near $1 million on parking (via tags, fines, meters, etc.) yet the parking has been terrible since the mid 80's. The college is in a dry county...enough said. The dorms ar awful. The student government is corrupted and wrong (they gave themselves a raise so that they could buy $95 Polo sweaters). The professors aren't very helpful. The athletics...well forget about it. I could go on and on but I won't bore you people any further.

Is it possible that you may like it better had you not been going since the mid 80s?

I would say the reputation of the school. So many people rag on UH because it lacks competitive sports teams and that a degree from there means nothing. All my friends in high school would ask me "You're so smart, why are you going to UH?" And my answer was always money (which really did help). But I don't know how to convince anyone that it isn't a bad school.

It seems like you've been missing alot of work?

What I don't like about school:

The tests. Too many and some of them are too hard.

The girls. They are always staring at me. It makes me feel uncomfortable.

What I don't like about work:

The customers. Too demanding. "May I have an iced tea please?" Sometimes they can be rude.

The girls. They are always staring at me. It makes me feel uncomfortable.

I dont mind the number of tests I have each semester. Its just that all my tests are always on the same week. SO in one week I have 5 tests. I think colleges could come up with a better way of testing than midterms and finals. Being a history major it really sucks. they are all on the same schedule.

ALso the fans here dont know jack about sports. the B-Ball team just came back from 10 points down and need a stop. what does the crowd do? ? ? ? nothing they sit there no chearing nothing. Its real sad to watch.

No, I was saying that U of H does not have the best reputation as a school. And as far as money goes, I don't have any. At all. U of H is paying me to go to school and that's a huge part of why I'm here.

Isn't that illegal? I mean the athletes don't even get paid, allegedly.
