I'm more of a pyro guy myself. Give me a few explosions and guys runnning around on fire over animated animals fighting each other any day...
I used to go nuts over CGI. But now, it's way over-the-top. Now, when I see older movies that didn't use CGI (like Aliens) the effects look a LOT better.
dude, come on...I'm being serious here... besides, everybody knows girl on girl is way better than a money shot
I've always enjoyed the long scenes with one camera shot where any mistake by the actors would cause the entire shot to be lost. The openings to Touch of Evil and The Player are good examples of this (as well as on The West Wing towards the beginning of the show's run).
I like the good fight scene too, but to me nothing beats a well thought out car chase. Also over the past 3-4 years Ive been really big on cinematography - just how the camera can really play a big role in creating an overall mood for everything....
We've got one movie to watch and return to Netflix before we get the first disc. Can't freaking wait.
I guess I forgot cinematography...something you really don't notice the first time watching a movie. The scene in Pulp Fiction where Jules and Vincent are walking down the hallway before capping Bret is another example...great steadycam work...
Any shot from "The Graduate" would be Cinematography 101 IMHO. RM - Are you going to watch Season 5 in Jan or wait for the vids again?? I kind of have to watch it now, because we all have big watercooler chats after Lost and 24.
Hopefully we can get through Season 4 in good time. Renee's addicted to Prison Break, so she's pretty excited about 24 even though she's never watched any of the past seasons.
Dude you are going to love season 4. So many twists and turns, and the finale is freaking rad! Jack is a badassssssss!
