Summer is almost done, and in order to appreciate it while it's still here, I thought I'd try a tribute to one of the best aspects of summer; Ice Cream.

I like Haagen-Dazs Chocoloate Chocloate Chip and Baskin-Robbins Pralines and Cream.

    How about you?

Well I grew up on Baskin-Robbins mint chocolate chip.

But recently, I found the best (chain) ice cream EVER. Cold Stone Creamery.

Sure, it's a Marble Slab knockoff, but it's really a lot better (not for your health;)) and there are more locations throughout the US and Peurto Rico in less years than MS.

    It's unreal.

i love those dryers dreamery ice creams. they are all good. chocolate blackberry avalanche, new york strawberry cheesecake, deep dish apple pie, mmmm....

its technically not ice cream, but dryers also started making fruit sorbets that are good on a hot summer day. peach, blueberry, mango, mandarin orange...

but any self-respectin' texan has to go w/ blue bell. hot fudge swirl, dutch chocolate.

damn, now for some reason im craving some ice cream. i think ill just have a beer instead.

Totally. When I went vegan, Blue Bell Dutch Chocolate was the *last* to go.

    Ah, memories... :)

    B&J Coffee Heath Bar Crunch.

For my birthday, my wife bought me one of those double barrelled Kitchenaid ice cream machines that can make two different kinds at the same time. She also got me the Ben & Jerry's ice cream cookbook. The recipes must be the same 'cuz I can't tell any difference.

For you guys who like Ben and Jerry's, visit Vermont sometime. They're based near Burlington -- and I'd bet there's more ice cream than people here!

I actually went to Ben & Jerry's when it was still owned by Ben & Jerry's. You liberals would have loved it. They had a policy where the highest paid employee could not make more than seven times what the lowest paid employee made. Everyone wore jeans, all employees got to take home two pints a day, and they played some of the most badass music throughout the whole installation.

I was staying at a cousin's house at the time, and they had a small dairy farm that was part of the St. Alban's co-op....they actually supplied the dairy products to Ben & Jerry's. It was pretty cool.

Let me preface this by saying that my wife is pissed at my choices and making me post this.

That said, the best ice cream on earth is

    ***drumroll please***

    German Chocolate Cake

    from Baskin Robbins.
