Wow, memphis just went to LA and beat them by 19. The lakers lost to the bucks at home earlier too in a blowout, it was no contest in the heat game.

If they keep this up, there not gonna make it out of the first round of the playoffs. San Antonio might just win the west

they play no defense. More specifically kobe plays no defense in the regular season. It's a joke he has been receiving first team all defense awards.

I've only watched the game against Miami, but just looking at the box scores lately, I think it's a really bad sign that Kobe has been jacking up 20+ shots per game (at a low percentage) and Gasol has been getting only around 10 attempts. This may play a role in their defensive struggles as well. It's a lot harder for guys to maintain focus on the defensive end when they don't feel involved in the offense at all.

    Artest sucks.
Kobe has been slowing down. LOL at anyone who thinks he can play consistently good defense. He has not done so in quite a few years now.
Derek Fisher is in the league why exactly?
Do they even have a bench besides Mr. Kardashian?
Bynum never became the second coming of Shaq I guess?

Chemistry...Kobe is a front runner, Artest is crap, Odom is off and on, Gasol is still soft....and Bynum just doesn't fit....

Still they have time to get it together....

Oh, and Fisher, is a flopping fairy....who is older than dirt.

They don't matchup well against the Griz.

Still think they are the favorite in the West come playoff time. Spers will tire out, but I hope they still take out the Fakers, just doubt it.

I'm also sure the league will figure out some way to send Chris Paul to LA for Derek Fisher and a sack of crawfish to keep LA a contender forever though.

The lakers are done, their perimeter defense is atrocious.

They rely on their 3 7 footers to rescue them but teams are able to get open jump shots all day against them.

Make open jump shots means win against the lakers.

It's that time of the year when Kobe gets mad at his teammates and starts hogging the ball. When he figures out (for the 20th time) that this won't work he'll start integrating the team and then they'll be off to the races again. Him and Phil Jackson just need to sit down and chat about what's wrong with the team's direction and change the game plan to make it work. This isn't the first time we've seen the Lakers suffer from Kobe Bryant taking all the shots and killing offensive chemistry. They'll bounce back.

They know its a long season, all they need to do is get into the playoffs, after that they'll step up.

Veteran team. Every rotation is 30 and over except Bynum and Brown. Nowadays players last longer and its about talent, ex Celtics and Spurs. Though they actually somewhat overachieved relative to their average team age the past few seasons. (Yes, I saw a graph on it).

Err, I disagree. He may not be playing much defense right now, but Kobe typically is a lockdown defender.

Like everyone has said, their act will pull together when the playoffs start. Despite being old and having won 2 championships, the Lakers aren't as mature as one might think. I'm not sure when it will happen, but they will shake off the boredom and start playing well again.

The problem is we are approaching the time of year when teams hit the doldrums. The month before the All-Star break can be trouble for some teams that have trouble focusing. I still expect the Lakers to snap out of it soon.

For the playoffs, the Lakers aren't as strong as last season. Kobe, Fisher and Artest are older. Steve Blake isn't very good. If Bynum doesn't step up big time, the Lakers will have serious trouble in the playoffs. I don't get a good vibe from this team. They might need to shake things up with a trade before the deadline.

unfortunately for some fans, just having rings is enough to apparently be a lazy team and turn on the switch whenever they want.
but kobe is mad, make no mistake about it...
