I really appreciate your opinions and posts, but please don't ever use "Nuggets4" and "trolls" in the same sentence again! :(

Now back on topic, the Lakers trolls haven't realized that RON RON will do more to hinder Kobe's game as a teammate than as an opponent! :D So they're here to gloat.

I singled out my good friend Nuggets4 because he should be exclusive from any troll-labeling.

Seriously?? Ron is going to hinder Kobe's game? The game of arguably the best and most mentally tough player in the NBA? This isn't She-Mac we're talking about or a 300-lb, slow footed Yao. It's they guy that is the closest comparision to MJ that we have seen....well since MJ.

Oh and don't forget the coach that has proven he can take guys with big egos and get them to mesh on the court.

Now I hate the Lakers as much as anyone, but ya'll are reaching for anything to pass the blame. Keep on wishing that Ron is going to hinder Kobe's game to make you feel better about losing the guy that helped get this team to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in 12 years. At the same time, start praying for the Rockets cuz we're in for as ugly a season as we've ever had in the past 20 years.

Did you ever hear the story about Artest and MJ? When MJ was making his comeback with the Wiz he organized summer workouts with some NBA players, Ron Artest was among those players and guarded MJ. The story goes that MJ did a little too much trash talking and BAM, body slam and broken ribs for MJ by none other than Artest.

Yep, love that story. Artest broke 2 of Jordan's ribs the first day they played together. Even after that, Jordan said he loved Artest because of his intensity and wished he could have played against Artest when he was younger.

Of course Ron can hinder Kobe's game. We are not talking about Samaki Walker or Smush Parker. We are talking Ron Artest, arguably the toughest player physically in the league. Kobe "leads" through intimidation. How's that going to go over with the guy who dared Kobe to touch him again in the middle of a playoff game so he would have an excuse to behead him on the spot?

Personality conflicts aside there are the basketball issues. Kobe can't take a shot if Ron won't pass him the ball. I suspect Ron will defer to Kobe more than he ever did to Yao but there will still be times when he thinks he needs to shoot some very ill-advised shots. How do you think Kobe is going to react? Remember, we are talking about a player in Kobe who has refused to take shots and cost the Lakers games because his ego was bruised by the comments of the media and fans. Kobe is not as mentally tough as people think when things are not going his way.

A team's offense never gets smoother for having Ron on the floor. Yes, he brings other qualities like defense and toughness but he is a ball-stopper and I don't think playing with Kobe will completely cure that.

I agree with you about Phil being good a massaging and managing egos in the past but he seems like he has "lost a step" or two. He had serious issues keeping the Shaq and Kobe feuds under wraps and since then has seemed a bit ineffective at the psychological tricks he once used to keep players focused. I'm not sure how much credit he deserves for keeping Rodman in check during the Chicago Championships either. I think Jordan deserves the credit there.

I thought the Rockets needed to let Ron go the minute I found out Yao's injury was going to cost him part or all of the season. With Yao out and Tmac gone I knew we needed to send him packing otherwise he would have claimed the team as his and we all know if Ron Artest is your #1 option on offense (or thinks he is) you're screwed.

I wish him good luck because he seems like a very nice guy and a hell of a competitor but LA made a mistake by letting a complimentary player go and bringing in a chemistry changer. Somebody needs to tell the Lakers that if it ain't broke don't fix it. LA got worse by picking up Artest instead of focusing on acquiring a PG.

ESPN is even worse when it comes to Lakers trolls. They flood every news section for the every team whenever they have a major acquisition they immediately let that team know or tell them they are still inferior to the Lakers. LOL! Well they know quality sites so that syas alot they come here too. I think this will be more of a occurence with Ron ron there. When he blows up the team things will get back to normal. LOL!

Fans of other teams are welcome in the NBA Dish as long as they don't talk a lot of trash and stick to legit basketball issues.

Definitely. Some people might want to contemplate the idea also that speculating about a positive outcome with Ron on the Lakers isn't any more trolling than speculating about a negative outcome.
